BCV Room Assignment Question...

We have a 9 night stay in a BCV Dedicated 2 BR coming up in mid-May. Arriving at MCO at 10:00 PM... Room assignment is semi-important to us (more the non-smoking piece than the "view", DW is pregnant and the last thing we need is offensive smells). Does anyone know whether BCV uses room pre-assignment or "room ready" at check-in?

My Mom and Dad live in Winter Garden and are willing to drive over earlier in the day to check us in and possibly get our grocery delivery. Might not be worth their trouble if the rooms are pre-assigned.

Thoughts/experiences?

We stayed in a smoking optional room at BCV once and we couldn't smell anything. And we always get non-smoking.

Two questions: 1- are your parents staying with you and are they included on the reservation?
2 - Are you doing the Disney Dining Plan?

If they are not on the reservation, they won't be able to check in for you. Unless you added them to the reservation. If you add them to the reservation, you will need vacancy in the villa to add them. Then you will have to add them for the dining plan as well.

Just something to think about.

Add your parents and let them check you in--it will be much easier.

And if I remember right (I'll ask my DD when she gets up) we stayed in room 233 which was a dedicated 2bd non-smoking room with one of those HUGE balconies. If faces the *garden* area but it was lovely. I know there was a post about bcv 2br last year--maybe you can find it using search. If was from last march or april.

Maybe your parents could ask for "room 233 or something like it" when they check in?

Mom and Dad are on the reservation, no DDP. Added them to the ressie to allow for contingencies. We like to have them join us at the pool and the parks. Dad has Parkinson's so his batteries get drained pretty easily, with his/their own keys, they can retreat to the room for a mid-day rest.

Will probably go ahead and ask them to check in. Thanks, all.

I really don't think there is a set check in policy, I've stayed at BCV a lot and I believe the earlier you check in the more options you will have, don't be afraid to ask which rooms will be coming available that day and make your choice based on that. They should be able to tell you that. So I would have your parents check in for you if at all possible.

As far as non smoking (and I'm a smoker ) I wish they would make all rooms non smoking. I wouldn't smoke in the room even if I had a smoking room. It would certainly eliminate the disappointment of all those who get a smoking room because that is all that is available, and it's definately the #1 request.

Have a great trip

I'll be back at BCV May 27-31, doing VB and VWL May 6-13
