BCV rehab?

I've seen a couple of posts about this and was wondring if anyone knew exactly what they were doing. I read the slide was closed is this the main slide or the slide in the kiddie pool? Also one of the stores is closed? Please help. Thanks

they are working on the main pool at the BC/YC - SALB - they are closing different sections at a time - so you will be able to use it - just not all of it.

this is an annual event - all the pools have annual maintence. Last year they totaled closed the entire pool - this year they are trying to work with the guests.

the gift shop in BC - is being worked on - so it has moved temporary. the bc will have a snack bar and more DVC stuff when it reopens so be patient.

the YC gift shop is still around too.

the quiet pool at BCV is not being worked on.

the bc main pool SAB, that whole section is closed. even the part where the kids play volleyball in the pool/water polo. even the hot tubs are closed the section after the hot tubs, lazy river & the 2 foot kiddie pool is open only. i am not sure how long, i thought jan. 17 or the end of jan.

So, it is true! I was hoping that it would only be the slide! Wishful thinking from previous posts.

From the letter I received it will be completed on Feb 26. The day after we leave.

Is there any rehab going on in the villas themselves?

I'm curious - we got the letter saying the pool would be closed in certain sections and reminding that we could pool hop to BWV, or use te quiet pools - we'll be at BCV over president weekend and I believe due to the crowds they aren't allowing pool hopping that weekend - so do we get to pool hop or not? I'm hoping they'll be done early or at least have it open that weekend, since the pool was the whole reason we booked there...

I know this is optimistic thinking but maybe it will open a week early rather than the 26th of Feb. at the end of President's week. This week is very busy and resorts/parks are very crowded. I would hope that Disney would do everything possible to get the pool and slide open seven days ahead of schedule.

I believe I have read that BCV guests may poolhop to BW because of the rehab even during this week.

Cool! A snack bar? As in breakfast items and such???

We're here now at BCV- only the Yacht Club side of the pool is open. It looks like about 2/3 of pool is shut down.

The furniture looked a little worn, a little rough really. To be fair, it was the only available 1BR/studio lock out they had to show us. I still like the location and it had a 'fun' atmosphere.

However, BWV are my favorite, BCV are a very close second
I've eliminated VWL only because, I love the rooms inside the main building. Would be happy staying in a room there in the main building with a pool view **Need to try staying in a VWL to change my mind.

Anyway, we both left the BCV room thinking that if most of the rooms are in the same condition, a rehab should begin within the next year!
