We are going down to BCV next week and I have been thinking that I need to get my act together! I know these questions have probably been asked before, but I don't remember.

1) What color do the tubes need to be for SAB if you are bringing your own? Or does it matter?

2) Are there any childrens activities at BCV like BWV have, and what times and days are they tipically?

3) Are there boat rentals at BC or are they at BWV?

Thanks for your input!

If you bring your own tubes for SAB they need to be clear for safety reasons. The life guards need to be able to see clear to the bottom of the pool. I know they do pool games for the kids at SAB but not sure of any activities beyond that. Actually trying to find this out myself for our BCV's stay.

I think they do rent boats at Y&B club marina.

HTH's:wave:

I am not sure about scheduled activities for kids. But they do have the child care. We used it last year and the staff was wonderfull. Before that I never left my daughter with anyone except my Mom or Brother. I plan on using the club over at the BWV on our trip in December.

Yes, they do rent boats at the Beach/Yacht Club.

Have a great time!

Scoootch,

Can they be tinted a color and clear? I have seen them at Wal-Mart that way, but never the totally clear as they have at SAB.

I'm pretty sure the tinted ones are fine - I think I read on other threads asking the same question that that's exactly what people were buying and using. They also allow noodles btw - we actually bought ours at the gift shop at BC ;)

I thought I read on another post that the babysitting service at BWI was "no more". I don't know...I have never used either. I just thought I would drop you a line to suggest that maybe you check into this before you go. I seem to remember reading that someone was referred to the babysitting at BCV because BW had closed.

Good luck,
Beca

Where can you buy clear large tubes? The ones at Wal-Mart are about 30". This is fine for my DS (11) and petite DW, but I am large (about 245#) and I need a large tube. Those 30 inchers will not come close and the larger ones at Wal-mart (42") are solid black, not clear. Anybody know of any other place to find large tubes that are clear (either in a store or online)? I would really like to find my own for our upcoming trip.

Mike

Mike,

I was a larger woman until I lost my weight and I found a great tube at a pool store called Allied Pools. I am sure you have a pool store in your town that would carry them.

do you have to bring your own tube, or do they have owns for you to use at the bc. we are staying there for one day in october and didn't realized that people bring their own !!!

Yes, they have them for rent at the pool. Most people like to bring their own to save $, but I can't be bothered adding floats to my already large packing list. If you are only staying one day, I would not bother bringing your own, it would just be easier to rent one if you decide you want it.

While BCV may not have formally scheduled activities for children, sometimes less formal things "happen". Last Dec we were at SAB on a weekday afternoon of a "slow" week, and one of the pool CM's spent 15-20 minutes playing with a small group of children including our two boys. They had an inflatible beach ball which they would throw to him. He was on the walkway next to the pool, and was obviously an excellent soccer player. He would trap and juggle the beach ball like a soccer player and then kick it back out to them without using his hands or letting it touch the ground. The kids loved it and this went on for some time. As good or better than anything planned!

Personally I wouldn't bother with the tubes and I'd buy noodles, they were much more fun.

The *lazy river* part really isn't has big as everyone thinks it is, it's just a small circle with a light current, nothing like a full size water park one. But it's still fun because the water is very deep(7-8 feet) and it was nice to float around with the noodle where I couldn't touch the bottom.

Have a great trip!

OK, I'll bite. Just what is a noodle?

You know...the long skinny "squishy" things that you buy in the pool section of any store that carries such? They are brightly colored. They're kind of like a big, giant, soft pencil, (or, appropriately...a "noodle"). You hang onto them, and you can float quite well. They are amazingly cheap...I have seen them as cheap as $1 each.

Have fun!!!

So at BCV you can bring a noodle and use it? How about other pools at Disney like at VWL? Can we bring those things there? We are going for 12 days soon and would pack ours if we can use them. Thanks.
