Can 4 people stay in a studio comfortably? We will be staying only for 2 days then going home after our 14 day DCL. It would be me , DH, DS (16), and DD (12)

I think it's fine. We did a studio for 2 days with the 4 of us (me, DH, DS7 and DD6) and it was fine.

I disagree. Two adults and 2 teens (particularly of different sexes) would be way too cozy sharing one bedroom and one bathroom. That's basically what the arrangement would be. It's one thing to pull that off with small children. Entirely another to pull it off with teenagers. I would think the discomfort level and lack of privacy would be a real downer.

I agree with Mikesmom. Very close quarters for two teenagers. There is no way they are going to be able to share a bed, so you will have to lug an aero bed around with you for two weeks on your cruise just to have enough bedding.

Of course if you don't mind dragging an aero bed around with you, a studio will seem large after being close together on a cruise for 2 weeks.

A studio is a bit bigger than a hotel room, and we get along fine when we have to share space.. DD is 15 and DS 17. Girls in one bed, boys in another.. DS usually sleeps on the floor, so it works out well for me :D As far as the privacy issue.. there is a door on the bathroom.. The biggest problem is the fight over who gets to sleep while the other gets showered and dressed

If you can pack an airbed, it would fit. Then each kid can have a bed. Or.. put the 12 year old on the sofa cushions on the floor.. Another option may be to save the points and get a room at POR, they have trundle beds..

What are your accomodations on the cruise? Are you getting two staterooms?

1 state room cat 10 (what we could afford) The nice thing about the stateroom is that there is a "bunkbed" type situation, and the split bath.
We could just get a cheap twin size blow up mattress and bring it and toss it before we go. We are not flying to the port we are driving so that wouldn't be a problem. It is a dream of mine to stay at the BC and this is the only way I can see to afford it.

Yeah, if the "kids" are not sharing a bed on DCL, then they might find it "cramped" on the sofabed.

An air mattress might be the best solution for you.

Have a wonderful time!!

We do it all the time. But I have two DDs ages 15 and 11, so they can and do share the sleeper sofa.

I can honestly say we have enjoyed the family togetherness more in the studio than we did in a one bedroom.

I know I know.... ya'll think we are strange. ;)

If everyone knows the sleeping and bathroom arrangements beforehand and you're all fine with it I think you'll be comfortable for 2 days. We DVC'ers tend to forget how people vacation in the "real world", which usually entails everyone packing into a regular hotel room. It's nice if everyone has their own room, but not always financially practical when vacationing.

You'll be just fine for two nights.

If it was for a week, I would say maybe not, but it really all depends on your family. SOme would be fine, others would not.

But for two nights, why waste the points for more room? Be close.
