Now that BCV is up and running, I wonder if they will have a "real" picture vs. an artist rendering.

I would love to have the framed picture that is in one of Towncriers pictures. It is in one of the rooms, maybe it was the Drawing Room. It is a night time shot of the BCV with the fireworks in the backgound. Also looks like there might have been a mickey hot air balloon in the pic too!

Terry S,

There is a larger picture of the framed print/painting in my photo album: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291628567. I'd love to have that artwork too, though I'll "settle" for my James Coleman (a former Disney background artist) giclee from the Wyland Gallery!

There are some other BCV photos that I took on July 2nd, as well. I didn't stay there though. Our first trip "home" won't be until August. DH and I just passed through to get a preview. We have never been to the Yacht/Beach Club prior to this; we both really liked what we saw! We even ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse the following evening. The food and service were excellent. It would have been nice if I had known about the 10% DVC member discount beforehand. However it was a wonderful meal that topped off our first, though short trip, to WDW without the kids.

We only "snooped" on the ground level, strolling from the parking lot towards the pool, making our way to the Beach Club lobby (that way we know where to go for check-in in August!). There are many common areas for waiting/relaxing/etc., as well as one corridor that had many cushioned benches and chairs just inviting you to settle right in. I believe this hallway was along the path from the Villas to the Beach Club, leaving from the Solarium(?), that room that someone else had mentioned which has a large countertop but no sink. We stopped by the resort shop. There were no BCV pins, though they did have the Beach Club resort pin with the lighthouse, as opposed to the one with the beach umbrella. The only pin the commemorating the opening was a large button (like the birthday button you get at MK) given to the CMs. I think there were T-shirts and other clothing that might have "Beach Club Villas" with the lighthouse "logo" as well, but I'm not too sure.

One thing that stands out in my mind from our brief tour of the place is that the soffits/exterior ceilings are BLUE. Not your traditional, everyday, plain old white. I don't know if you can see it too well from the photos. The exterior of the Villas has a very visually stunning color scheme, yet very comforting and relaxing, IMHO. My DH is a carpenter and when I saw that I asked him why, when he was building our front porch or building our back balcony/porch, didn't he give me BLUE as an option?!? LOL

I'm really excited about our upcoming stay! I hope you enjoyed the photos.
