Where is the parking for BCV? Do you have to use valet or can you park yourself? How inconvienent is it to use your own car to go to MK or AKL?

Thanks - Karolyn

The parking lot is close to the villa wing. You can either self-park or use the valet. It's entirely convenient to use your own car to go to MK or AKL unless the roads themselves are crowded.

Just for the record: it is Never easy to use your car to get to MK, wherever you are staying.

Sure, it's easy to get from BCV to your car to drive to AKl. or AK for that matter, I just wouldn't recommend driving to MK, ever.

ITA. We drive everywhere except for the MK. As for the BCV self-park ... it can actually be closer to walk to your car in the self-park than to go to the vallet stand to pick it up .

I was surprised the first time I saw the BCV self park how close it is to the villa building itself. Also, its not huge and we generally always find a spot close to the building.

Our trip this past Jan, we used the self park almost always, and I drove to & from AKL, GF, Downtown Disney & off site. No problems. Everything is very well marked. To get to the GF, you have to actually enter the MK parking gate. Its pretty close, I think what the other posters are referring to is the parking in general at MK and how that is a hassle.

But on the whole we love having a car with us at BCV.

I don't think driving to MK is a big deal at all, its 10 minutes tops. Then take the boat or monorail, piece of cake. Enjoy the scenery and slow down. Having your own vehicle is awesome.

BCV parking is convienent, take 3 rights and your on your way to MK.

The end of the BCV hallway ends at the self parking lot. We were always able to get a spot with in the first few cars. Here is a picture of the corner of parking lot and part of BCV (facing toward Epcot). The stairwell is at the end of the hallway... the part of the building with no windows.

Also if you happen to be going to MK for EMH or an early PS the parking is very good. You park in the first rows and no tram is needed, although the resort monorail can be slow.

You're right. It's a 10 minute drive, then another 5-10 minute wait/ride on the tram, then another 15-25 minutes wait/ride for the monorail or boat. So you could be at the MK in as little as 30 minutes or as long as 45 minutes if you drive. Or, you could take the bus right to the gate. There is almost no wait in the morning abd you'll be walking into the MK 15-20 minutes after you're picked up.

Thanks so much for the information. I wasn't sure where parking was and glad to see it is so accessible. Valet didn't seem right to me for some reason!

I appreciate everyone's responses. Now if we can only decide between BCV and BWV and make it past ROFR we'll be all set!

Thanks again - Karolyn

Buses, especially some of the ancient Disney buses, aren't Magical. They're public transportation. Riding the rail or upfront ontop of the ferry is much more Magical for us and I'm guaranteed a seat on the ride to the TTC when I drive. Thankfully for people like ya'll, there's people like me who leave room on the buses. Thankfully for me, there's people like ya'll who don't suck up all of the close parking spots an hour before official park opening.

On topic, the parking lot for BCV is great if you are rooming at the far end of the resort from everything. Very convenient to get to the car. If you're near the main resort, it's not as convenient. One way or another, there's a long hallway involved. :wave2:

We go back and forth on this one at my house! My sons think the MR IS an official ride at WDW so at least once during every trip, we drive to MK. I think that the bus system has good and bad points. If you are staying near the HH at Old Key West, the ride back can take a while going through the whole resort (or you can get off earlier and hoof it - but I tend to have tired little ones in tow), so to me the added time of the trams/boat/mr just isnt a big deal.
