We have tried both - and for a 2 year old, BWV hands down because of the little kiddie pool. it's true there is a large sandy bottom area that is shallow at SAB (BCV) and it is fun to be there with a toddler, BUT - it is very hard to play with a toddler there as opposed to a more traditional zero entry pool (like the one at VGF). We were there in August with our 21 month old and I basically sat in the pool and followed her around when she wanted to walk. Had to keep eyes on her and keep her in arms' reach at all times because the water was chest deep and she would trip (sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose) and just fall forward or backward. When she did, her whole body and head would go under, so I pretty much had to just grab her and pull her up again. She thought this was great fun. I don't use water wings or anything else on the kids because those devices can lead to a false sense of security in both the kids and the parents, and I want my kids to learn how their bodies move and float without any "stuff" on them, so they know their own limits as well. I've been a lifeguard, swim instructor and coach, and feel pretty strongly about this. Anyway - with a 2 yo who still trips and stumbles, the kiddie pool and even the big pool at BWV is more fun for the parent until the kids are strong swimmers at SAB. And since SAB is so spread out with different areas, I didn't see ODD (6) and DH for pretty much the entire time I was in the shallow area with YDD.
