Trying to decide where to book at for a trip next summer. Which pool area do you think is better for a 2 year old, Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk? We want to be in Epcot area so has to be one of those two and we will likely be spending a good amount of time at the pool since the little one will likely need a break from the parks in the afternoons. Beach club looks fun but busy and I didn't see an area at BWV for toddlers but maybe I missed it?

Boardwalk is def easier to watch a 2 year old. The baby pool
And little play area adjacent is perfect for that age. The beach club is probably more work for you. Plus having the actual boardwalk just outside your door is great with a stroller for evening walks or ice cream or magic shows. Lots to do!

Ahhh just pulled up the pool area on Google maps and I see the area for littles now, looks much easier to contain a random running toddler there than BCV! Looks like we will save BCV for a trip in a few years. Thanks!!

We were just at Beach Club and I was thinking to myself “man we missed taking our son here when he was little.” BCV has this great huge wading pool with sand to dig in. It’s a separate pool from the other pools and it’s pretty big and looked like lots of fun for littles. My son was seven this past trip and we kind of didn’t really like the BCV pool as parents. We had to stay right near my son so we wouldn’t lose him in all the pool options, and the majority of the pools were way over his head or would be shallow and then suddenly deep. So if you don’t go now, in my opinion BCV pool won’t be great until your kid is 10.

My kids loved BCV starting at age 1 - and now they are 19 and 21! With a 2 year old, chances of you letting them out of your sight are pretty slim to none. The sandy area is so fun for them and really keeps them entertained/occupied. My kids always had water wings or some sort of life preserver on as they were growing up and we were pretty much always in the water with them, so we never had an issue. In general the whole area around the lake there is great to walk around. So nice for the little kids - and us big kids too!

They are YOUR KIDS, watch them, don't assume someone else will. You could, heaven forbid, end up like those "parents" that have let their kids drown at WDW.

Personally I think pool at BCV is TOO big. Stayed there in July with my 6 and 7 year old. We love BWV!!

We have tried both - and for a 2 year old, BWV hands down because of the little kiddie pool. it's true there is a large sandy bottom area that is shallow at SAB (BCV) and it is fun to be there with a toddler, BUT - it is very hard to play with a toddler there as opposed to a more traditional zero entry pool (like the one at VGF). We were there in August with our 21 month old and I basically sat in the pool and followed her around when she wanted to walk. Had to keep eyes on her and keep her in arms' reach at all times because the water was chest deep and she would trip (sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose) and just fall forward or backward. When she did, her whole body and head would go under, so I pretty much had to just grab her and pull her up again. She thought this was great fun. I don't use water wings or anything else on the kids because those devices can lead to a false sense of security in both the kids and the parents, and I want my kids to learn how their bodies move and float without any "stuff" on them, so they know their own limits as well. I've been a lifeguard, swim instructor and coach, and feel pretty strongly about this. Anyway - with a 2 yo who still trips and stumbles, the kiddie pool and even the big pool at BWV is more fun for the parent until the kids are strong swimmers at SAB. And since SAB is so spread out with different areas, I didn't see ODD (6) and DH for pretty much the entire time I was in the shallow area with YDD.

BWV, a 2 year old doesn't care where they play in the water and BWV is easier to manage.

We are at BCV (on rented points) w our 2 and 5 yo DDs in March. We have 2 pool days built in. We are very careful to watch the kids (divide and conquer sort of approach). Do you think it would be worth trying to hop over to BWV (if allowed on rented points)?

We had to divide and conquer with our DDs because our 6yo wanted to go in the deep lazy river or down the smaller water slide on the pirate ship side, and we definitely had to have one parent with her at both those places. She was only interested in the sand bottom area for a little bit. I would hop to BWV if you want to spend some easier pool time together. But I also can't remember if the scary clown pool has a shallowish area or if you are stuck with the kiddie pool if you want the 2yo to be able to stand and play. On this last trip, since it was a split stay (with a cruise in between), we'd already had good family pool time in the splash area at VGF and the zero entry pool there, and it thunderstormed a lot when we were at SAB.

The scary clown may be a non-starter too... :) Thunderstorms would definitely also change plans. Sounds like we will roll with the punches. Worst case is we add back in another park day. lol.

The sandy shallow area at BC is great for a smaller child. :)

We took our now 5 yo DD to Cozumel on a cruise last year. She loved the beach. I imagine that would be just fine for her as well. She is not yet a strong swimmer so I imagine she will not want to venture off much anyway.

Pool hopping is NOT allowed on rented points. It is a member perk. Renters do not receive member perks

I am a member. Just not using my points for this stay. It's okay if they don't let us hop over. Just going through the options.

Ah ok
But I don’t believe you can use member perks when you are staying on rented points. I’m sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

We've tried both when each of our kids were 2. I probably prefer Beach Club pool because of the sand/zero entry...it kept them occupied longer than the Kiddie pool at Boardwalk.
