BCV or AKV in late July????

Anyone ever stay at both and prefer one to the other and why??? Thanks

I have stayed at both and prefer BCV - short walk to Epcot and the pool is great for late July

Next July will have Kidani opened, and so that may be an incentive for you to stay at AKV.

We just stayed at AKV the last week of July. We normally stay at BWV or OKW. Although AKV is a beautiful resort I found it to be so far away from all the parks except AK. I did love seeing the animals, but I prefer to be closer to Epcot and the studios.

Well I don't know if you saw my other threads (crazy threads I post ) about next summer. We just added onto AKV site unseen. Our home resort is SSR but we wanted more points so we decided to add there. I do have a desire to stay there and from what I have read/heard....it is very nice. However..we really want to stay at BCV again next July and also try Vero. Part of me wants to stay at AKV and part of me almost feels guilty NOT TO STAY THERE....since we just added on. SO I posted about doing a three way split starting off at AKV, then BCV and then Vero over a 10-12 day period. Then I thought maybe we would just wait til Kidani was all finished and stay there summer 2010. So I am not sure what to do. So we are going in Nov. and staying at SSR but we are at OKW the last two nights but waitlisted for SSR and today I added AKV so that maybe with some stroke of luck we could stay there for 2 nights and at least try it in Nov. and then I would feel better about NOT staying there in July. Are you following me LOL

We just did a split stay in April at both. For me it's hard to choose. I prefer AKV but love being so close to Epcot at BCV. It was great to just stroll in every night. But...it was also very nice to relax at night at AKV and watch the kids swim.

I am having the exact same dilema as you..........although this may be simply decided by which I can get at the 7 mnth mark! ha! ha! We are travelling in August though.

Our home resorts are BWV, VB and OKW and but we wanted to try somewhere new! Will be interested to hear everyone's views to help me decide!!!!

I'm sort of in the same dilema! We were able to try VB and AKV in Aug. and fell in love with both of them! We are definitely going back next year as long as I can book at 7 months again! Also, will be staying longer at each of them this time!

We are trying to figure out whether to stay at SSR or BCV for the first part of our trip. DS, believe it or not, wants to stay at SSR and DH and myself kind of want to stay at an EPCOT resort. Love the atmosphere at BCV and the pool, but I didn't care for the view that I had last time! On the other hand, we had an awesome view and room location at SSR the last time we stayed there! Oh, what to do!

Well we all loved loved loved BCV. Have you stayed there??? My kids loved the SAB and the location to EC is wonderful. We stayed at BWV summer 07 and didn't like it near as much as BCV. I have a feeling we are going to love AKV too and want to stay there in July too. If I wasn't so inclined to try VERO I would do 3 nights at AKV followed by 6 or 7 nights at BCV and call it a VACATION. LOL

yeah you know....I was reading the Vero thread and it said that the sand is soooooooooo hot in the summer you can't walk on it. Something to think about.

It's hard to walk on the sand in NY in July. I can't imagine doing it in Florida.
I would start a new post to get more information from members who have been there.

Well we all loved loved loved BCV. Have you stayed there??? My kids loved the SAB and the location to EC is wonderful. We stayed at BWV summer 07 and didn't like it near as much as BCV. I have a feeling we are going to love AKV too and want to stay there in July too. If I wasn't so inclined to try VERO I would do 3 nights at AKV followed by 6 or 7 nights at BCV and call it a VACATION. LOL

Yes, we are going to do a 3 way split! We always do at least that. Although, I don't want to move around as much as we just did last month! We went from 11 nts. BWV, 3 nts. Gulf Coast, 2 nts. Crystal River, 2 nts. AKV, 2 nts. VB! Fun but way to much moving around for us!

Well, for sure I am going to try and book AKV and VB, because I have to wait for the 7 month mark. This is the tentative plan: Aug. 16-24 ? My son has chosen SSR for this time. I kind of wanted to stay at BCV or BWV for this part, but we told him he could choose this time, since dad picked last (BWV)Last year we stayed at SSR and had an awesome view of DTD and a really great location for buses and DTD! My son likes SSR over BCV.

We have stayed at BCV once. We all loved the pool! The atmosphere is great too! Beaches and Cream is quite yummy! We didn't really care for the view or the balcony. You have absolutely no privacy with the open balconies. Every time I went out on our balcony, there was a women blabbing on her cell phone rather loudly! It kind of ruined it for me. We were told it was an EPCOT view, but all we could see was the very tip top of America, the woods, and the smoking lounge below us. That is the only down side of BCV for me.

Aug. 25-29th VB. We all loved it there! Aug. 30th - Sept. 4, or 5th AKV, somewhere around there. That place is amazing! Yes, I don't know how anyone doesn't love it! We had a SV and even with the construction, it was still great!

I was thinking that I might wait and get the car until we are going to leave WDW, like we did this year, because it saved us a chunk of change!

Well we loved BCV too. OMG all of us fell in love with BCV. We are without a doubt staying there next summer if we have to stay on the high point weekends. LOL I think I need to just slow down and wait til our Nov trip, check out the AKV and then make our decision about Vero vs. AKV or both.
