BCV.....is it really that bad?

We are staying there in a week (1 bedroom) for 5 nights, and I am hoping for the best. This is our first time at BCV, although we stayed at YC before. I originally chose it because of the proximity to Epcot (and the fact that we needed a 1 bedroom), but I am getting more and more nervous about it. We're not terribly picky, but if it was really dirty or things were in a state of disrepair, I would be disappointed.

We stayed at BCV last week and aside form minor wear and tear our room was clean with everything in working order. We had a 2 bedroom with two queen beds, room 531, and enjoyed our stay very much as did our guests who have never stayed there before.

Nordkin, we're hoping to be as happy as you were when we stay in Spring!

I "hear you". Not expecting or will ever except "Dirty" when we're on vacation. Would never tolerate that. That's for certain; unacceptable!:scared1: HOPING for an experience like Nordkin!:wizard:pixiedust:

BCV has been nothing but wonderful every time I've stayed there. I just love it.
This is the same with us. We love the place. I have never run across these hallway carpets that are disgusting. The rooms are slightly antiquated compared to some of the other DVC resorts but they always seemed clean and comfortable to us. It's our favorite WDW resort.

We own at BWV but since our son loves Storm Along Bay, we typically will stay at BCV if we can get in at 7 months.

Every room we have stayed in there has been in need of some maintenance. Some small stuff, some more serious. Furniture is in bad shape; rooms are showing wear. However, we have found the rooms to be very clean and that is most important to us.

The elevators and hallways are in terrible shape. Common rooms and nooks and crannies seem to be fine. All that said, the location can't be beat and as long as my son wants to stay there and we can get in, we will continue going to BCV.

We are here now and totally pleased. We are in a 1 BR. It is clean & everything is in good repair. I was hoping for a renovated villa, but I am perfectly happy. I also have not come across the disgusting hallway rug on the 4th floor. The furniture in our villa has minor nicks & dings -nothing troublesome. They are painting the elevator interiors and the exterior posts on the walkway to the lobby. We love the BCV & think some of the criticism is because the theme is dated.

We were at Epcot last week and we walked by this resort and we are thinking of trying to get in for our next visit. We loved the pools, beach and the location to Epcot.

I find we are not in the room that much anyway.

This is good news:D Would you be comfortable sharing your room # and view? We will be in a 1bdrm in December. Thanks!

I'm in a studio one floor below you, and I agree. Except for that hallway rug (and the rug in my studio's not much better), everything else is clean and OK.

We just returned about a month ago and had a great stay in roomm 550, which is a studio. This was our 1st time at the BC and we absolutely loved it, definitely in our top 3 of favorite resorts.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom 18 months ago and thought it was great- great view of spaceship earth with fireworks to the far right and the room was clean-- needing updates but clean. We went again 12 months ago and we had to switch rooms we thought it was so bad- broken molding everywhere and the vanity had so much water damage the wood was splitting.

I know we will stay again b/c we love the pool and proximity to everything... I was just surprised they thought that room was acceptable. I would have been livid if I paid the rack rate for the 1 bedroom.

The yucky hallway carpet in hallways is partially due to members and guests who do not take the trash to the trash room but set it in the hallway.

Unfortunately, that happens at all the resorts, but for some reason, BCV's carpet shows the dirt most. And maybe people are finally learning-I've been here for a week, no trash or dirty dishes in the hallway!

How long does it take to put trash in trash room or down a trash chute! Just plain old lazy!:sad1:

Just got back from a FABULOUS split stay BCV studio and Poly studio!:thumbsup2 We were PLEASANTLY surprised with the room condition! VERY CLEAN:cheer2:, no complaints and when we were there the carpets/hallways did not have any odor! Only saw 1 food tray hanging around in the halls which was good! We had "magical" connections between the time we landed at MCO on DME to the time we arrived at BC, 3rd stop, first CBR, BWI, and then BC, was 1 hr 5 min! :PinkbouncHad a great lunch at Boardwalk bakery and got a text at 1:30PM that our room was ready which was SUPER!:goodvibes VERY HAPPY with studio 560, HUGE BALCONY overlooking pool, lovely view of canal too, was one of the villas on our "requests"! CM's checking in/out were very nice and efficient! Stormalong Bay was BEAUTIFUL :beach:and relaxing as always and was very convenient as we had friends staying at the Dolphin. F&W was fabulous, but we avoided Fri,Sat,and Sun. CAN'T WAIT to experience the villas when renovated, think they will be REALLY NICE! Asked a front desk CM about renovation "timeline" and all she could say was she heard early 2016. HOPE that anyone staying at BCV will have a great stay as we did!:dance3:Will try to post a pic later as I am getting a message file too big..don't have time to play with it now.

Just got back from the BCV Oct 19-23. We stayed in a 2 bedroom dedicated rm #433 I was so worried about our room before going because of this board. The room was great the carpets were fine. Enjoy your stay.

We have BCV studio reserved for end of February. This is our first time staying at a Disney Deluxe and renting a villa. Pre-kid DH and I always stayed at Swan. I am super excited and glad to read the positive feedback.
