I tried to book on points, no 1 bedroom was available
I could book for cash.
Why is this?

Does anyone know how I can get a discount on the $439 CASH PRICE, besides of course a possible DVC owner 25% discount, which I will try for tomorrow

The cash side of the ressie's (CRO) still have available rooms, while the point side is booked up. As your date aproaches, they may switch over.

Did you try an AP discount? Look at www.mousesavers.com for any current codes.

I went to mousesavers.com
they listed a code that would give me an incredible $139 rate on animal kingdom lodge.
the quoted rate on the 407wdisney # is $275 per rate.

has anyone ever used one of these quotes and actually got this $139 RATE

In January, we used an AP code and got the AKL Savannah view for $154 / night. That's the best I had ever heard for Savannah view.

The codes and cheap rates are very real. You can use any that apply to you from mousesavers.com or disney.com. Just call CRO and ask if they have a room available that code (whatever) may be applied to. We have been using codes for some time now and really have increased our Disney trips as a result. Now we go so often we are thinking about buying DVC.

I just wanted to reply, when I've had problem with no points availability, but cash rates were available I've had VERY good luck calling the Monday before our trip... they call the resort directly & they move some point allocations around & can arrange for your room... Actually, I called yesterday & had this very same thing done for our Thanksgiving trip.... but usually you call the Monday before your trip... There are cash rooms available, because the Developer (Disney), will ALWAYS reserve at least 4% of the resort for cash stays....
