We recently closed on a resale purchase at BCV and just waiting to get into Disney's system so we can make our first official reservation! We had our heart set on a 1BR at BCV from 5/7-5/13 - the thought was to avoid the Easter/Spring break/Mothers Day/Memorial day/ out of school times! We have always visited Disney in Sept so we are used to NO or very ligth crowds. I was reading about the Flower and Garden Expo at Epcot during this time frame and now a little worried. Do we have a chance of availability in the next week or so of booking a 1BR AND what are the crowds like at this time? Seeing how BCV is an 'Epcot' resort, are we going to experiences crowds? Any feedback is appreciated. Happy New Year!

This is our most favorite time to go. The crowds are manageable, heavier than in September, but a lot less than we had in August and recently in the beginning of December. As for whether or not you can get a reservation is another thing. I really do not know the answer to that since I make ours at the 11 month mark at BCV. Good luck.

We are also going 5/7 thru 5/13. We've gone in early to mid-May in past years and loved it. The weather is usually very pleasant and the parks are not too crowded. I think you chose a wonderful time to visit.

We were able to book a 2 bedroom for 5/13-16 about a month ago, and we had our choice of dedicated or lock-off. So it seems to me that you've got a good shot.

I just booked a 1 bed at BCV for May 3 - 8 about a month ago. I think if you book it soon you will be ok. Good luck!

I don't think the Flower & Garden Festival is as big of a draw as the Food & Wine Festival. I've gone around that time the past 6 years and it wasn't very crowded. Maybe more on weekends.

Disney got us into their system and points updated this morning so called for the reservation...darn! 1 BR was only available for 2 nights so had to wait list for 3 nights. Did a day by day and hoping they come through. BWV was available but with a 2 year old in tow, Storm Along Bay is a highlight of the trip and want to be close. Keeping my fingers crossed - thanks for all the feedback!

You might consider booking BWV (or another one), then releasing them if/when waitlist comes through for BCV. That way you would have ressies somewhere.

Congratulations & Welcome Home!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,
Tom :sunny:

I second what others have said. This is a very good tme to go. Next to Xmas it is one of the priettist times especially EPCOT. The crowds are manageable, much less than when the schools are out. We stay at OKW and just love it...smjj
