Called today for last two nights at BCV over NY's. Added request for dedicated 2 BR and CM told me they automatically put in a dedicated unless you request otherwise. Then I asked for two beds in 2nd br and she said there is a new policy that those requests will not be accepted. She said it was because people think they will be guaranteed and that can not be done. This is contrary to what Terry S was told by a manager. Anyone else hear this???

I wouldn't think there would be any way to guarantee the 2 queen bed dedicated 2 BR units with the current and planned setup as these are only 1/3 of the dedicated rooms and you never know which ones will be available on the day you check in. I'm frankly surprised there hasn't been more uproar over this issue than there has. DVC obviously sold one thing to many people and now they can't deliver on that. I can't believe that changing a full size to a queen size sleeper sofa truly qualifies as a 2 queen bed second BR. If I had bought BCV with a larger family and the idea of the 2 beds in the second BR, I'd expect some recourse. If there wasn't a legal issue here, DVC would never have made the changes once everything was in place as it is far more than just changing the beds. They have to change light fixtures locations as well then repair the rooms.

Dean, you can gaurantee the reservation of a 1 bedroom vs a 2 bedroom, why couldn't you gaurantee a 2 bedroom with 2 queens vs a 2 bedroom with 1 queen and a sofa?

Well it would be nice to guarantee the 2 beds, and I hope it happens, but with only 25 I wonder if they will do it? Its like any hotel- you request a king and end up with 2 doubles sometimes. It probably would be a logistical problem if the computer is not set up for it- and also depends on when you check in. Dean, I agree it was very disappointing to only get 25 out of 78 dedicated with 2 beds. With older kids who are 6' and 6'2, they are not comfortable in a sofa bed and always fighting over who gets the queen bed;). Obviously a huge communication problem. I don't understand the statement- due to fair housing practices - what the heck does that mean in regards to inability to put in two beds vs. sofa sleeper. And some inference that some units aren't large enough- now wouldn't you think they'd make the designated units large enough in the first place?? Poor planning!
Since all requests are just that- view, location, etc. why not keep it as such. People request BW view and hardly ever get it- why shouldn't we be allowed to at least include our preference for 2 beds??
