Well, the BCV condo meeting was held last Tuesday, December 2. Everyone who attended had a chance to chat with the Disney staff at the meeting. That included Jim Lewis, Sam (the CEO of the BCV) and other amazing people.
The news is, our dues are going up another 5.2%. This is actually less than last year. The new rate is $4.1785. The explaination is due to pension fund and health care costs. The "controlable" costs had an increase of 1% from last year.

There was discussion about the merchandise. They are coming up with more "club"specific clothing. A nice ladies shirt with a V neck that will have the colored logo with "Beach Club Vills" under the logo. A watch is in the works, but only in the men's style and size. A duffle bag and other nice things. I mentioned that members on the forums were expressing the need to be able to order the merchandise over the internet. Because of taxing issues, this is not a good option for Disney, but I compromised and suggested to at least have a site showing what is available and a number to call to order. They took this information to heart.
They talked about their Early Check-in program and that it is running sucessfully. I questioned the success rate of the program, as I had a less than wonderful check-in on Friday. In the discussion, it appears that the only thing guaranteed on early check-in, is to have the room ready before 4 pm. Any other request may or may not be granted.
It looked like around 40 to 50 members were present, along with all the BCV staff. It was a nice meeting and lasted one hour.
