BCV or BWV for wheelchair
(also in disABILITIES)

Hi all - myself and my family are planning a Disney Trip with my Brother and his family. My Bro has MS....needs a roll in shower and a fully accesable handicap villa.

My Brother is a DVC member and is talking about possibly renting a grand villa. He has always stayed at OKW which he loves. He says that OKW has a great handicap room, roll in, etc.

Knowing Disney - I figure that each of the DVC properties has an equally nice handicap av room.

Any experience with staying at BCV or BWV in a chair? I was figuring that BCV or BWV woul give my Bro alot of "roll out" options (two parks w/ no bus, the Boardwalk, Stormalong (if BCV))

Any input would help alot. - Steve

BCV does not have any GV's.

BWV however has room 3047, which is close to the elevator, 1 Story GV with Master & 1 BR - Handicapped accessible.

Hope that helps
Sandy

My understanding is that all handicapped DVC rooms have roll-in showers. This is very different from non-Disney hotels, where a "wheelchair accessible" reservation will often net you a slightly larger bathroom that has a tub and handbars.

Anyway, I use a wheelchair and prefer a tub. Since a roll in shower would make my life pretty difficult, I was told by MS to specifically ask to not have one.

I was dissapointed the BCV quiet pool wasn't constructed with "0" entry to make it easier for those with dissabilities. I hope SSR is.

Unlike Desperado, we found the pool at BCV to be better accessible than OKW because they at the very least had the Bump downs, OKW did not!

I can't speak for the GV but we stayed in a 2 BDRM in BCV that was HA and had a great location view. I believe it was 328 & 330. Right off the elevator, overlooking the quiet pool!

Good Luck,
Lisa
