In February DH and I stayed in a 1 Bedroom BCV and there were 2 balconies, one from LR and 1 from BR. Next week we are headed back (Hooray!!!) and this time our 27 y.o. DS is joining us. We will again be in a 1 BR, but since they both sleep later than I do (No EE for this family :-) ) I was planning on sitting on the balcony off the Master BR (DS will be sleeping on the Pull Out in the LR) with a good book and a cup of coffee in the early AM. It just occured to me that all 1 BR's may not have the 2nd balcony. Does anyone know? If they all do not, does anyone know which do, and how I can request one? The only requests that I will have will be non-smoking, non S & D view (My DH really doesn't like the exterior of these hotels), Higher floor if possible. Thanks in advance for any replies.

This sounds like a good question for InstImpress (Sandy). She has room reports on BCV rooms of all sizes. Unfortunately I only have them for the studios. If I was more computer "savvy", I could give you some kind of link to her PM or the room reports, but I'm not.

The fact is that most 1 bedrooms at BCV have either 2 seperate balconies or 1 balcony that goes accross the entire length of the bedroom and living room. If I had to guess, I would say it is less than 10% that does not have the balcony off the master bedroom.

Deemarch, you can request a certain room, but the odds are not in your favor to get that room. Another guest may be staying in the room when you check in and you are out of luck. Make your request generic - like two balconies, non-smoking, etc.

Deemarch, to answer your question - I would never request a specific room. For one thing, I don't think it is fair - to others or to CM's trying to assign rooms, also I feel it is unlikely that such a request could always be honored - leading to potential disappointment or worse. But I do request "generic" things such as "Non-Smoking", "Higher Floor" etc. My thought in asking this question was more - is a balcony off the Master BR unusual - and therefore should I re-consider my requests to add a request for this - or was it usual - don't worry.
All of that said, whatever room I have at BCV will delight me! I consider any "Request", just that - a request. If it can not be met, I will still be estactic just to be in Disney at the BCV. Not EXPECTING something specific enables me to not be disappointed, (My Personality), but an added "something special". Hope this helps.

I am ust wondering from some things I have read if the difference has anything to do with lockoff v. dedicated but I don't have enough reports to support my thought. I tell the CM what you are looking for and see what direction they point you in. If when you get to the room, the balcony isn't what you want, go back down wit the bellmen before they unload your luggage.

Good luck and keep us posted.
Sandy

Before we made our decision to buy-in, I called the BCV's front desk and asked about the rooms with no balcony off the master bedroom. I don't recall the specific number or percentage, but they did tell me there weren't a lot of them. So, your odds of getting a room with one off the master are certainly better than getting one without. Good luck.
