BCV Availability in Sept/Oct

I have been stalking for one night extra in October at BCV. The night I need is still not available, but all of a sudden there is a lot of availability for September, October, and November for all room types. I am thinking they may have been holding back some rooms due to refurbishment that they released. Since this is F&W and has been booked solid for many months, someone is going to get very lucky.

Same thing happened with BWV about a month ago which is also undergoing refurbishment this year. it does appear to be an issue of releasing rooms previously designated for non-use for refurbishment.

Just added 4 BCV studio nights to my late August-early Sept trip...It will be a split stay--half at BCV and half at BLT (both in studios and both booked in June--so two months out)...I was really surprised when I went online to check availability just now and saw how open BCV is (for studios and 1-BRs for almost all of August...I've been "stalking the website" for a couple of weeks now to see if I could add 3-4 nights to the start of my trip--and even as of this morning there had been nothing available at BCV in August, for either a studio or a one-bedroom. I had a W/L for 8/27-/30, but when I saw the villa I wanted for my dates available just now, I booked it and then canceled the W/L...

So, another case of availability online prior to a W/L filling...

It's hard not to worry a bit...virtually the entire month of August is now open for those two villa sizes. I guess finishing room refurbishment could explain it--but it's a little hard not to worry some...I think I'll wait another week before I buy airplane tickets! But how cool would it be to get 4 nights at BCV, booked in mid-June for late August??? (almost as miraculous as getting five nights in a row in a BLT studio for 8/30-9/4, booked 2 weeks ago (beginning of June)...I may be using up my lifetime supply of pixie dust on this trip!!

They really should have a better way to fill waitlists. You would think they would check the current waitlist requests before releasing all of the rooms into inventory. I am sure the night we need (10/26), which we do have waitlisted, was probably released and already booked by someone else by the time I saw availability today.

I called regarding the rush of availability and our waitlist. They had matched and held a unit for our missing night at BCV, however it hadn't been processed yet as we wanted our reservations merged together. Not sure why it takes so long, but sometimes they are in their back system waiting for notes to be processed (such as registration merges). Calling made it happen however, the wait for IT to merge was crazy. Hope yours comes through!!
