The maps I have seen of the BCV don't show easy access to Epcot. Are there some short cuts that don't show on the maps?

I was at the BCV looking around this past November/December and the access to EPCOT was very easy. Some have said that there is a little bit of a walk from the far side of the BCV, but all in all, the access is reasonable. Just exit the building on the lake side and take a left up over the hill and there you are!

OR:

take the boat to the International Gateway and get off there.

Yep. Go aout the back and walk around the resort towards epcot along the building. Or, take the first gated entrance at the beginning corner of the BC building when heading in the other direction. I believe there's only one short cut path, you won't miss it. At first I questioned whether it went all the way around the buildings and connected with the main lakefront walkway to Epcot, but it does. On the way back you can also take a second walkway entrance by the BC quiet pool into the BC hallway and follow it to the BCV covered walkway. Wish we would have taken this partly covered shortcut during the rain. Enjoy.

Hi there,

Access is easier if you leave via the front of the Beach Club Hotel, simply walk 100 ft to the large walkway that faces the Boardwalk over the water and turn left, it is then straight on for 800 yards to the international gateway( on the way the walkway has some dips in the path which could require someone in a chair to want a push)

From the BCV, Leave the BCV heading towards the main building and take the first path on the left before you reach the main building.

The path goes on for 50 yards to a T junction turn left, and walk along the side on the rooms which leads to a little black metal gate which in turn takes you on a path very near to peoples rooms.

Follow this which does snake left and right but brings you out via a little black gate after 150 yards, turn left and only a couple of hundred yards to the international gateway entrance.

This sounds as clear as mud but do it and you will never forget it.

And if you can't figure out the short cut, it's still a very short walk. When I stayed at BCV in November, I couldn't figure out how to get to Epcot, so I walked over to the BC lobby, out the front door, and took a left. Yet, I still would consider it a very short walk to Epcot. You mean there's a shorter way? Great!

We stayed in room 223 back in October - on the second floor facing the porte coche (circle drive). One night we were waiting for Illuminations and got a bit chilly, so I went back to the room for jackets. At 8:40. I was a bit rushed going as I didn't want to miss any, but when I got to the room I checked my watch. It took all of five minutes to walk there from the tables next to the crepe cart in France! So I leisurely strolled back and made it in plenty of time for Illuminations!

Maybe this will help find the shortcut...

Makes for about a 5 minute walk to Epcot. International Gateway is just over the hill from where the shortcut comes out.

Enjoy!

Great map and it will make more sense once you're at BCV. The first time we tried it we actually went in from the black gate along the walkway on the way back from Epcot. It was easier for us that way, call us crazy! That is one of the challenges in staying at new places, learning how to get around. I'll do it any day!!

Thanks so much, Tagrel-even with my terrible sense of direction, I think I'm all set now to save some steps next time I'm at BCV. Now I feel so dumb about all those wasted steps! Oh well-it helped me justify all those pastries in France!
