BCers heading to WDW

Don't worry. It'll be just like this except more humid and even hotter, and maybe the threat of a hurricane. :rotfl2:

Really though, we've been this time of year 2 times before and we're doing it again, so it IS ok. Drink a lot of water, and you're in and out of air conditioning all day so it's really not bad. ;)

Thanks LOL.... hotter and more humid... Im not worried about the hurricane... We went to Mexico last yr during hurricane season and all was fine..

Quick question about the documents that are mailed from Disney.. I received my Magical Express Package by UPS.. Will I still receive another package with our reservation info and vouchers etc for arcade, planet hollywood etc. If so will it come Canada Post or Ups..

Thanks... getting excited.. :dance3:

Yes, you will receive another package with all the fun stuff, including pretty luggage tags (aside from the ME ones):)

October 24-31st Contempo
October 31st to November 7th Disney Magic.

It might appear that I am not a BC'er, however, I live in New Westminster!

Bring on October ;):goodvibes:goodvibes

Count us in ... only 24 sleeps left and we will be at the World! Staying at Pop Century August 24 to Sept 7. Everything is looking good--our documents are will arrive any day, the dollar is looking stronger and with this heat wave in BC, figure we will be climatized by the time we get there!

We're back from our trip to Lake Louise/Calgary/Whistler. I'm finally back online -- really had some serious DIS withdrawal though.

Looks like we may run into you, TagsMissy. We're going to be at AKL on August 25 to September 1.

We got non-stop flights on Alaska Air from SEA-MCO and also non-stop return flights. We paid only about $650 return for flights for all of us as we used our Alaska Air mileage points to take 50% off our airfare.

I've been checking the weather in Orlando for the past week. Looks like there are thunder storms close to or in Orlando??? It's hot though -- kind of like what it's been like here.

Yeah we always wear a hydration pack from MEC so we can constantly be taking sips of water. I bought one for my brother so we'll have 2 on the go, especially with the kids there we'll need to be careful and make certain they constantly hydrate. We also bring hydration tablets (same idea as Gatorade/Powerade,etc), I can't remember the brand right now but they are little tablets that come in a tube like those vitamin-c tablets that were big in the 70s and 80s that you drop into water.

Hubby and I drink one glass in the morning and then one glass at the end of the day to keep our hydration levels up. -- In the hot florida sun we just follow these rules: Sunscreen, hat and hydration. LOL the first rule applying more to me than him due to complexion and hubby is really careful to constantly check my shoulders/face and reapply/remind me to reapply.

PS: I will be updating the list in a couple of minutes on the first post :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We got a great airfare out of SeaTac too! $382 CAD incl tax. Would have been cheaper, but we are flying into Ft. Lauderdale, and flying home from MCO. American Airlines. First time I'm having to pay that nasty luggage fee.

8/20 - 8/23 POR
8/24 - 8/29 WL
:yay::yay: :yay:leavng in 2 weeks for Ft. Lauderdale.

Sue I don't know about AA; but Delta has now started to discount the luggage fee if you pay online before hand. It's worth checking out!

COOL! Are you staying Jambo or Kidani? We were able to get a 2BR at Kidani and I am so excited. :dance3::yay::woohoo: In the past Hubby said he'd never choose/want to stay at AKV but now even he is getting excited!

We're staying in Jambo. Would love :lovestruc to stay in a 2 BR Kidani but that would've exceeded our budget. The studio and 1 BR only have 1 queen bed and a sofa bed. I didn't want to get a room with only one bed for our family of 4. To have our DDs sleep on a pull-out sofa bed and cramped into a studio suite for a week is not comfortable. We much preferred going into a regular hotel room with 2 queen beds.

Sounds like we all have some fun times ahead of us!!! Let's hope we can concentrate at work and get through the next few weeks!!!

LOL Thanks Douglas -- the list will be updated momentarily :thumbsup2

I now feel as though everything is officially in place, the only thing missing are my pretty yellow tags from DME! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Yesterday my brother booked our hotel rooms ((for anybody traveling with a larger group Sutton Suites have a room with 2 queens and 1 double, a kitchen and I believe a sofa bed for $79! That's great for his family of 5... we're in a king room for $59. For one night you really can't go wrong.((they have a sleep and fly deal there too))

I got MasterPark booked this morning as we just feel better leaving a vehicle there than in a hotel lot.

I can't wait to hear my "Welcome Home!" :):yay::dance3::cheer2:

But before that I need to do a lot of :laundy::laundy::laundy:

LOL I told my hubby from now on any laundry loads I do I'm going to just put stuff direct into the luggage so I don't need to worry if I have enough clothes LOL

I was able to book The Hampton Inn in Tukwila WA for the night before we fly out and then 20 nights parking for $183.34. Master Park is a little closer but they would have been more and then we still would have to get a hotel for the night or drive down early on the morning we fly our. Now we can sneak out of work a little early on the Wednesday afternoon and get down to Seattle for a dinner at Red Lobster before we check into the hotel for the night.

All that is left is to pay for the Hotel in Seattle, the Limo from DisneyWorld to Port Canaveral, the Rental Car from Port Canaveral to Hyatt at the Orlando Airport & our spending on in DisneyWorld and on the Cruise that isn't covered like Drinks and such. Everything else is booked and paid for including Deluxe Dining in DisneyWorld. Now I just have to wait for the end of September.

I know what you mean!!! When I mentioned the :laundy: "packing plan" to my family, I got this from my DH...:lmao:...and this from my DD teenager...:confused3
Only my DD10 shared in my enthusiasm...:yay:

BTW, our WDW package arrived yesterday filled with luggage tags and our package vouchers. So exciting!!! I guess the next BIG milestone would be online check-in!

I'm not ready to start the laundry, but I'm definitely writing my "list" of what to pack;)

I've made a list and starting to slowly put it all together. I would like to get a couple of the mister fans I've heard mentioned on these boards. I've looked at a few dollar & dollar plus type stores but haven't seen any. Any BC'ers know where to get them locally so that I don't have to pay an arm & a leg to buy them at WDW?

I would suggest thay you try Sport Check or one of the other big Sports stores in the Lower Mainland. This may be to late in the summer already but I did see some in Sport Check last month.

Best of luck

Thanks for the tip about the mister fans @ Sport Chek. I didn't even know that they were sold here. I'll go check out the location @ Richmond Centre.

Demi_8, if you find it at a certain location, please post back. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the tip Douglas Bray but can you tell me which Sport Chek location you saw the the hand-held mist fans? (Mind you, if you are on the Island or something it wouldn’t be worth my while to take the ferry over there to buy some!) I’ve called several locations from Pacific Centre all the way to Surrey and no luck yet. Also called Canadian Tire, Coast Mountain and Mountain Equipment Co-op and everyone says they’ve never seen them on the shelves. Three Vets said they had them but were all sold out (perhaps when we had that mini-heat wave!?). They told me to try the Dollar Giant. Army & Navy has the fans but not with the mist option.
c&m – I called Richmond Ctr and they checked their database – nothing. Oh well, will keep my eye out this weekend when I’m out and about and report back if I have any luck. Perhaps there is just not enough demand for them in these parts for stores to carry them.

It was at the location in Lougheed Mall, however I was at the Mall last night and I couldn't find them their or in London Drugs.

I don't remeber them being that exspensive to buy at Disney World (under $10.00 each) and then if they break you can go to any vender in the parks and they will repalce it with a new one.

Also this will cut out one more thing to pack.

It seems real now!! I checked my mail on the way home from work and there was some disney mail in there.... We got luggage tags, insurance info, and a booklet with vouchers in it....

Time to sit down and really get ready.... 3 weeks and we will be on our way!!!!

I am going to get school supplies done tomorrow at last the basics and then I can cross that off my list..
