We are thinking of doing an adult-only (DH and myself) trip to F&W for 3-4 days. We want to stay convenient to Epcot. We will definitely do Epcot and at least one day at MK. We may or may not do AK or DHS. We won't have a car, but I am not concerned about transportation at the hotel. DH might do the marathon, so I guess transportation for that might be needed. This trip wouldn't be for more than a year out. Since this will be a birthday celebration, we might want to do club level. We may not use the pool, but we might use a hot tub. So, what's the difference between these? Which one would you choose and why? :thanks:

I would choose BC to be as close as possible to Epcot. We enjoy the hot tub by the quiet pool at the BC.

DH & I have done CL at BWI & absolutely loved it. We didn't use the pool. Most of our stay was geared towards Epcot with one day at MK. We have stayed in a Pool View room at BC & it was actually our worse stay on WDW property ever. BWI is super close to Epcot & there's more food options on that side. The CL food was perfect for breakfast for us. Whatever you choose, have fun!!

What was the issue with the pool view room at BC? By more food options, do you mean near BWI since it's close to the boardwalk? Thanks

DW and I are fans of BWI. We have stayed there many times. We love being able to wander over to Epcot. We are not pool people so Stormalong Bay at the BC/YC has no attraction for us. Yes, the BC is a bit closer to Epcot but BWI is close enough for us. We also like the theming of the Boardwalk.

We have not stayed at the BWI CL but have read only good things about it.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Epcot resorts.

I wouldn't worry about transportation to MK. We just stayed at BWI over Christmas week and BWI doesn't share buses with Swan/Dolphin anymore and there were plenty of buses available for MK and AK. We've stayed at BC/YC and the Dolphin as well and buses were fine (it is definitely better now that BWI doesn't share buses however)

That being said, if your main objective is to be close to EP, I would do BC. You may actually want to look into a studio at BCV as it will get you even closer to EP. If you want a more exciting resort (IMHO), I would do BWI (or a studio at BWV). BWI is so much fun at night with the entertainment and, as a PP pointed out, there are a lot more CS options (Boardwalk Bakery, plus the kiosks on the boardwalk).

We've done CL at BWI and YC (but not BC). We much preferred the CL at BWI. They layout is much better (more spacious) and you can see the Illuminations fireworks from the CL balcony.

If your main goal is to be near EP for F&W, you really can't go wrong with any of the EP resorts!

I also love the BWI. The CL there IMO is top notch. All of the CM are very helpful and cheery. The quiet pool does have a hot tub and is located in a very quiet and relaxing area near the garden suites. :cloud9:

Good luck with your decision.

Of these 3, have stayed at BWI CL and YC CL. BWI is better by far, imo. The CMs are excellent - helpful and super friendly. Also liked the atmosphere of the lounge much more at BWI.
Distance to Epcot IG entrance is a non-issue; both are an easy walk.

Are you planning for 2016? Epcot resort hotels fill up for Food and Wine. I'd suggest figuring out which of the three hotels have availability for your dates and book.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I would vote BWI. I loved it there. The proximity to both EPCOT and DHS, the room decor, the hotel overall ambience. Magical Express service and the buses were really great during my stay. I like all the shops and the food options at the Boardwalk. No matter which one you choose, you'll have a great time--it's Disney after all!!

We have stayed at YC x2 and BWI CL x1. We really like each resort for different reasons.

YC is quiet and a great retreat from the hustle and bustle. Our 1st floor water view room had fantastic views of the BW and Illuminations higher fireworks.

BWI, we had a wonder CL room and location was central to everything. Nightlife is so much fun at the BW and people watching was fantastic!

We are trying the BC this year and hope that it goes well.

No actually it was the room itself. It was missing furniture. Had a broken fridge & toilet. Took over 4 hrs to get 1 chair to be delivered for 4 adults. Fridge never fixed & toilet finally fixed. Room location was about as far away as possible from anything. There's no true food court there at BC just a small grab & go in the gift shop. Overall BWI was just a much better experience overall.

The theming does look cool. Plus, we have never spent any time at the Boardwalk. So that would be convenient.

I am not worried about the transportation to MK, since it would only be one day and probably at RD. We could always take the monorail back to Epcot and walk through, maybe grab a drink or snack, on our way back to the hotel from MK.

I think the nightlife part sounds fun at BWI. We have never done CL at WDW. Usually, we are with DS and spend most of the time at the parks, so we are rarely in our rooms. This trip might be a little more relaxing.

I also love the BWI. The CL there IMO is top notch. All of the CM are very helpful and cheery. The quiet pool does have a hot tub and is located in a very quiet and relaxing area near the garden suites. :cloud9:

That sounds nice and romantic. Thanks

BWI is sounding really great!

This would be for November 2017. I have read that those Epcot hotels book up fast during F&W, so I thought I might go ahead and book what I thought I would want. I usually book room-only, so it wouldn't be difficult to change or cancel later, as long as I didn't wait too late. Thanks

The Boardwalk and BWI sound like my number one contender right now.

I hope BC goes well for you too. I am thinking being nearest to the Boardwalk is the way to go for this trip.

That is such a bummer. I hate stuff like that. It just takes so much of your energy and time during what's supposed to be a relaxing, fun time. Unfortunately, every hotel has a bad day. Hopefully, that was just the case this time. BWI is sounding fantastic though.

Thanks everyone:thanks:

I've stayed at BC CL & YC regular room. We enjoyed BC CL, but I'd try YC CL. We preferred YC over BC, especially for adults. And all rooms have balconies at YC. It's close to Epcot and also a short walk over to The Boardwalk area. We love floating along the lazy river at SAB, 3 hot tubs at SAB and one at the quiet pool. Also like be the dining options at YC.

I didn't realize the SAB had a lazy river. Do they let you bring adult beverages in plastic cups into the lazy river? I also didn't realize that they all had balconies at YC. It looks like a lot of the rooms, if not all, at BC & BWI also have them. I like the hot tub statistics at SAB too:)

Yes, a section has lazy river. They have free inner tubes, but I prefer a pool noodle, lol. So I have a blow up one I pack. No pools in Wdw allow drinks in the pools, only on pool deck.
All rooms (except ground floor) at YC have full balconies. Only about 50% of BC rooms have full balconies, the rest have Juliette balconies, very small, standing only. I don't know about BWI, I haven't stayed there. Don't like the scary clown pool, lol. :worried:

I guess a lot of this is a moot point for a while. Disney doesn't have 2017 up yet:( I don't know why. I thought they liked us booking early:rolleyes: Nothing for 2017 is known yet either, ie F&W and the marathon. I was reading the reviews on Touring Plans, and I may be even more undecided than before. Man, Touring Plans really needs to get new pics of BWI. Those pink rooms are ghastly. I showed DH the rooms on the Disney site, and he preferred Beach Club, because it was the least stripey:rotfl: I will probably have to see pricing and availability before booking too.

Closest to Epcot -BC
Best pool - YC/BC
Most central between Epcot/DHS - BWI
best Standard rooms - BWI (IMO)
Most likely balcony BWI/YC
Best for adults alone/ most quiet - YC

they are all good for F&W!

Enjoy!

beach and Yacht are the same thing, consider it one resort, just minor theme changes.

You are really asking a single question. Do you want Storm along Bay? If yes, you must pick yacht and beach, if no, go with boardwalk.

I would say yes to SAB and pick the cheaper of yacht or beach. you can easily walk or boat over to boardwalk or swan and dolphin to enjoy their attractions.

If DS was going with us, I would definitely pick SAB. However, with just DH and I and our focus being F&W and possibly the marathon, I am not sure if we will swim. A hot tub would be nice, but I think they all have that. The decision seems harder when SAB is out of the equation. Maybe there really isn't too much difference, which is fine. Not having stayed or visited any of them, I was just curious about the differences. Thanks
