do i need birth cert. to prove my kids are 2 1/2? adults will be on ddp not them..was told by someone on here that if the cm doesnt believe how old my children are i will have to pay for their meal , then send in a copy of their bc to get a refund? is this true..sounds a little crazy. didnt want to bring their bc to the parks:confused3

No, you do not need to bring the BC. Disney will believe you.

FYI...kids under 3 are only free at buffets, all you can eat meals and dinner shows.

If you eat in a sit down restaurant with a menu, they can share whatever you get yourself but if you order them something off the menu, you must pay for it. That would not be free.

I don't know that not to be true, but that sure does seem nitpickey for Disney. To be sure I guess I would call and ask, although it seems like the type of a question I would ask a number of times to make sure I got the right answer.

thanks for your replies. we want to do a couple of character meals..chef mickeys, crystal palace, ? what about sci fi? that would be a menu meal right?

Sci-fi is a menu restaurant so your under 3 year old would have to share or you'd have to pay for whatever you order for them.

They would be free at CM and CP.

ok thanks for clearing that up..us adults need to do at least a few character free meals to keep our sanity:eek:

Some airlines will require a copy of the birth certificate if your child is flying with an age related fare. That includes a youth fare or a child flying as an "lap baby".

This probably doesn't apply to you, your child is to old to travel as a "lap baby" and most of us find the deeply discounted internet fares we're able to grab are lower then youth fares.

noooooo...they will have their own seat. god help us. they had they had their own seat when they were under 2 in car seats..we have twins. we'd go crazy:eek:

We actually brought a copy of the birth certificate when DD was 2 yrs, 10 months, because she's a 90% height kid and looked 4! We weren't on DDP, but we offered the cert when we picked up our annual passes and the CM just laughed at us. We were never even asked how old she was at the actual park entrances.

I don't think you'll have a problem -- and if you do, just have the server ask the kid how old they are. They'll proudly say two, and will probably tell the CM when they'll be three!

there are pretty good at saying their age, however they also do say 5 ,7 ..whatever their into that day..mine were preemies, one is in the 5oth percentile, the other is in the 5th..they dont even look like twins..they probably wouldnt believe that either:rotfl:

Don't worry about it. Asking for BCs to prove your child's age is very un-Disney. I think Mickey would be appalled if anything like that happened. We went last year just before my twin boys turned 3. They were at the 50th percentile. We were never asked what their ages were while entering the parks or when dining at the restaurants.

I got both of mine in for trips just before they turned three. No one will question you. And I have very large kids. You MAY have to tell them at the buffets if you see it on your bill. But they will not question you.

My DS is very tall for his age and I've never had a problem at the parks or restaurants.

I had to laugh at your comment about non-character meals for sanity. I can definitely relate. Still, buffets and family-style meals are free for kids under 3, and we've definitely used that to full advantage while my DS is under 3. :) Next time we go, sigh, he will be 3.

We've found that both TS and CS kids meals were pretty big for a toddler and I bet you could probably have your twins share 1 meal most times, maybe with an extra order of fries or other side dish if needed.

Disney will not say anything ... they are pretty good about that, no need to bring a Bc ...
