We have a 7:30 AM ressie at Cape May. Will we be able to make a 9 AM rope drop at MGM??? Our dd's are 13 and 9. Will walking be the fastest way?

:cheer2: I would say get there immediately and eat fast. Do you plan on walking to MGM or taking the boat? That may make the difference.

We've walked the path from MGM to the BW/BC area a number of times. The boat has yet to beat us! Plus it's a great way to walk off breakfast.

I have seen the Cape May buffet empty around that time so you may be able to get done rather quickly - I wouldn't think you would have too much of a problem.

Considering 7:30 is the earliest ADR time you can get, you shouldn't have a wait to be seated and the characters will most likely get to you within the first pass. If you want to make the MGM opening, you should plan on being out of Cape May by 8:30 and walk, not stroll over. It will take about 15 minutes or so from the BC to walk. I'd kind of feel bad rushing through a $20 a person breakfast, but that's just me.

I agree, a 1/2 hour should be enough to get to the rope drop at MGM. It usually takes about 20 minutes so 30 should be fine, depending on how fast you walk. Go out of the beach club and walk towars the Swan Dolphin, cross the bridge and walk along behind the Boardwalk to MGM. Have fun.

We will walk to get there faster. I hate to rush too but this is a short trip for us. Wish we had more time...Hopefully dh will love it so much he will want to return SOON! Thanks for your help!

It did not take us 15 minutes to walk over there...that beind said everyone complained how fast I walked all week (but hey if I can walk that fast and push 60 pounds of kids and strollers...hurry up!) We made it in less than 10 minutes (we were running late for Imagination Movers and I had promised my DD we'd do this and it was the only day we could have...)

We still made it back in about 10 minutes too.

A power walking momma with strollers, I love it. Not sure their 9 year old can keep up that kind of pace though, especially with a tummy full of breakfast, that's why I'd go with 15 minutes for planning purposes.

You must have been flying! It took me 16 minutes, at a leaisurely pace, to walk from the Swan to MGM. To make it in 10 minutes from BC is practically unbelievable!

Walking from BC to MGM in under 10 minutes isn't walking, it's jogging speed at least. I have timed the walk from BW (Clown slide) to MGM front gate in 12-13 minutes on at least 2 occassions. I've made it from Swan to MGM in 15-16 minutes last Fall, walking at what others would call 'a leisurely pace'. BC to MGM has always taken us 20 minutes minimum.

If someone is lucky enough with their timing to walk out of BC and onto a boat, the boat will take 5 minutes to get from BC/YC to S/D, then load/unload time, then 8 minutes to MGM dock. The boat can be faster than the walk from BC, if you get lucky and the boat is right there close by.
