Family of 2 adults and 2 children question:

We have a studio booked at the BCV but would like opinion on changing
to a 1 bedroom instead - ** We are not interested so much in the microwave, coffee pot and frig amenities for this room choice** Only wondering the room configuation / space , etc. The appliances, etc. would not be #1 reason for us to make the change. Just the room itself.

So, based on that would there be another reason to change from studio?
( room configuation, etc? ) or should we just keep the studio ?

Just wanted another point of view in making final decision.
Thanks for comments or points we hadn't considered.

How old are your children? A studio can get rather full with four larger sized people. We don't even like a one bedroom that much with four adult sized people. Except for OKW since it has much more room.

You get one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa in a studio (except for OKW, you get two queen beds). In a one bedroom you get one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa in the living room. You also get a jacuzzi tub in the one bedroom and a stand alone shower. You get the tub/shower combination in the studio.

If you are treating the room like any other hotel room - sleep there, change clothes, etc - a studio should be fine. If you plan on living in your room, using the villa like you use your home and getting comfortable, a one bedroom is a lot more comfortable.

We are a family of three (13 yr old son), and we seldom stay in a studio any more. We just like the extra space.

children ages 11 and 4

should be ok with the studio then since we are planning on full park day vacation vs
spending much time in room. jacuzzi is enticing but guess we can forfeit that for this time ~

appreciate the comments

Just my 2 cents.

Will your kids sleep together on a pull out sofa? Mine won't, so even in a 1br, we bring an aerobed (toddler or twin size) for one of them.

I like the 1br so that you have the little living area to chill out in. Also, you can pack very light, as there is a washer/dryer in a closet off the kitchen. Plus, someone (youngest) can be put to bed earlier in the bedroom and close the door.

It also depends on how long you're there for. If it's just a weekend, then maybe the studio is okay. If it's a week, I couldn't do a studio with 2 kids. That's too close for comfort!

There are many pluses to the 1br, the space, the layout, the separate shower and tub, with two sink areas, the washer/dryer, full size fridge and kitchen for snacks. Good luck and have fun!

Aerobed - Great idea !
Wonder what size/brand is a good one - getting it filled w/ air while there etc. ?

Not sure availability now for room changes for our dates - but sure appreciate the comments to consider.
My guess is that we'll just crash when we finally get back to our room each night after a full park day and we will be happy just to see a bed :)
( regardless studio or 1 bedroom )

Thanks for your happy thoughts

One more request for making best choice in accommodations !

I just ck'd availability for BC VS the BCV ( Studio )
There is a 1 bedroom at the BC available for our dates.

We don't need the amenities ie: microwave, etc. as much as the sleeping
accommodations. So wouldn't it be best to have the 1 bedroom BC ?
VS Studio at the BCV ?

Oh my goodness such decisions!
Thanks for help -

The one bedroom villas are fantastic! We are also a family of four and just love having the room to spread out. (Not to mention the jacuzzi tub, huge balconies and luxurious accomodations. ;) )

This past August we stayed in a villa for the first time, (after a dozen trips over six years) and that was it! We are now DVC members.

Watch out! Once you start staying in a villa, you may never want to stay in anything else again. The DVC is pure vacation magic. :wizard:

Have fun planning... :)

I can just imagine that would be the outcome! ie: DVC

Thanks for the reply Mich Mouse and food for thought ~
We know for certain the Beach Club environment is going to incredible.

The planning is a joy in itself and appreciate your input

We stayed in a Beach Club one bedroom Villa back in June, 2005 with our two children (who were nine and six at the time). We are returning to the Beach Club in February, 2007 and we have downgraded to a Studio Villa at the Beach Club. The two reasons were went down to the studio unit were:
1. It was a lot cheaper &
2. We weren't in our room too much (except to sleep).
Don't get me wrong, the one bedroom was BEAUTIFUL and LARGE but if you think you'll only be there to sleep, then I'd go down to the studio unit.

A few things to remember is you'll lose the king-size bed in the studio. The studio comes with one queen-size bed and a full-size pull-out sleeper sofa. I was also told that there is limited storage space in the studio...so I am bringing extra hangers. I also requested a non-handicapped unit because I didn't want to give up a bathtub for a shower stall.

I hope that helps.

Kathy :)

We made a change from BCV Studio in exchange for BC - Standard ~!

I believe the bed accommodations 2 queen will be much better than
what the BCV studio offered.

We are happy :) with our change in res - and appreciate everyone's comments.

We have also stayed in WL in the past and now get to experience something different.
That's the beauty of WDW Resorts.

I know we will enjoy the BC for many reasons.
Thanks
Enjoy the day
