Anyone watch the announcement today? BC is opening more, my husband is thrilled that masks aren't mandatory. He’ll be the first one to rip his off lol. Me, eh, I think I’ll still wear one in a store. Even pre pandemic walking around a store or mall and people coughing with open mouth and not covering while passing you, ick.
Good news for summer tourism too. Domestically anyway!

But here in BC we’re still burning up 🥵🔥🔥🔥. I looked at patio early morning today and there’s something wrong when I think “ oh only 27 at 7:00am. In the shade. Now it’s 35 and there’s a breeze so I’m sitting outside. Crazy.
So anyone who comes here now is nuts! Lol

I haven't got a call yet - I feel like I should be getting a call or text anytime now. My first dose was May 15th

Edit: only 7 cases in Fraser Health! Happy tears, happy tears. Now if only it didn't feel like I was slowly being roasted in a convection oven.

I am SO proud to be a part of this beautiful province!!! Our health team has done an amazing job!!! 29 cases today!! Only 7 in Fraser Health, where I am!!!! Celebrating moving to Step 3 on July 1st by getting our 2nd dose!!!
Me too!!! so happy that we live where we do. Trying to be patient waiting for my text for my second shot. Should be sometime soon.... Things are sure looking up!!

The weather out there is crazy right now, hope you are all staying cool somehow.
If BC wasn't so expensive it would be a place I could see living, especially with the shorter winters.

I'm born and raised here in BC, so I don't really 'know' anywhere else except where I've travelled. Heck I've always lived in the lower mainland, haven't even moved far from where I was born! I think about moving to a province with a cheaper cost of living, but my husband won't even entertain the option. He won't consider even moving out of the lower mainland (until we retire at least).

We moved to Vancouver Island 7 years ago, and were fortunately to move to a city (Campbell River) that had a depressed housing market. That's no longer the case; our house has doubled in value. Now our market is more reflective of the rest of B.C. Super happy to be living here, as I have no desire to move back to Ontario and have to deal with snow.

hubby has a client in White Rock and the first time he went out there he fell in love with the area. I think it was april 2010 because he brought home stuff from the Olympics that he found for 50% off in the airport 🤪 whenever he needs to install large updates to the system we always turn it into a bit of a vacay at one end or the other.

retired and still living in the lower mainland 😁. I could see having vacation property somewhere like The Okanagan or the Gulf Islands but don’t think I’d move Away from friends and family!

I love White Rock! It’s about a 45 min drive but always try to get over there at least once a summer!

It is amazing isn’t it! I couldn’t believe it myself when I heard 27 cases!!!

My brother and family are in Comox and my mom just moved out to Duncan to be closer to him and the kids. DH and I are really the last ones still here in Ontario. They really love living there, except for the current weather, of course.

looks like cooler temps starting today! Yay. Our weather mAP went from red to orange!
Vancouver Island is lovely. I especially love the west coast of the island.

Now to wait for Federal announcement July 20. Fingers crossed they drop the 72 hr Covid testing, and just do airport rapid test.

You need to make the move out here! Courtenay/Comox is a great place too.

I am loving the weather today on the Island... I woke up and could actually take a deep breath and my house wasn't over 30!!!
Also got to book my second shot this morning!!!! Now I just need to wrap my brain about all the changes to come July 1st.... Working retail I hope people will be a little slower to take masks off etc.

today is a much cooler day in the lower mainland! lucky to have AC these past few days. It feels different when it is the high 30s in DL because there is AC everywhere, not to mention water rides!

We went to a local farmer's market yesterday evening and it was amazing to be able to be there without masks! I'm fully vaccinated but DH and DS only have 1 dose so they wore masks when we got to the vendors.

I am ditching masks immediately (except where absolutely forced to wear one). I hate wearing one.
Haha! My husband thought he didn’t have to wear mask yesterday and went out with his buds for lunch and was surprised when restaurant told him he needed to mask until they got to table!
My daughter & I went to a movie and we still had to mask in theatre until we got to seats.

Totally! My friend who is my Orlando travel buddy said to me- but you don’t mind the heat When I was complaining about our heat wave. My answer, it’s different when you have pools and an AC room to go back to!
We don’t have AC at home. I don’t count the portable Costco AC that was useless in this heat wave.
