We are vacationing in April and would like to stay at BC or BCV. Is there info someplace about the timeline for rehabs here? TIA

No, just rumors or speculation. BCV was supposed to have been done this year, but the year is getting late. Different people hear different things on whether the villas are next after BC, or if YC will be next.

Edit to add...

I think BC is going on now. I was responding above to the villas.

So FWIW, I just called the Beach Club front desk to ask about current or upcoming room refurbishments, and I was a little surprised to hear that there are no current, or known imminent refurbs planned for either Beach Club, or BCV, in the coming months?! I told them we are aware of some recarpeting, and seemingly other room work done in the past few months, and the response was that there may be isolated room specific change outs due to wear and tear, but nothing more than that. Lastly I was told that generally these things would be announced closer to the time (ie check back in January for any 2015 refurbs planned)
Kinda bummed as we have all been waiting for a long overdue refurb :(

When VWL was refurbed this year, it was first announced at the annual meeting in December, construction begun in early March, and it finished a month later.

Just because the call center that answers resort phone lines doesn't have any info, does not mean that the refurb is not planned. It just means Disney hasn't made an official announcement yet. Or even that they aren't internally communicating well.

VWL was refurbed to sleep five in the studios very quickly, but member services wasn't aware of the change for booking purposes for three months later. Big corporations sometimes don't do the internal communication thing as well as one would expect.

I'd say there's a communication gap in the Disney system. At the BC/YC thread, the first page has up-to-date info on the room refurbishments. The 5th floor CL lounge is now finished, and there are photos up of it on the CL thread. The 5th floor rooms are currently being renovated. A CM who works there is active on the thread and has confirmed all of this.

Calls to any Disney resort "front desk" go to a call center. That call center may be several miles away...or several states away...from the actual property. (Ever notice that there are no ringing phones being answered in Disney resort lobbies? That's why.)

Information made available to these remote agents is not always up to date. And even when the info is maintained, not all CMs are diligent about keeping tabs on the latest news.

Bottom line: "front desk" CMs are not the folks who would be seeing workers come and go, or standing around the water cooler discussing the latest resort happenings. They are sitting in tiny cubicles miles away, most of whom have never visited the resort you are asking about.

LOL- well I wouldn;t have believed it but I have to hand it to you you are right! I called again (the "Disney Beach Club front desk") phone number and they answered saying "good morning Beach Club", then when pressed about if they were at the Beach Club they said they yes were indeed "onsite", then when pressed further it was admitted they were not there, but on Disney Property. Long story short, they still say there are no scheduled renos for BC or BCV. It amazes me that this is the case with official phone info, when others on site including a CM (apparently) say a large scale reno is underway (not my words) that is starting with club rooms \

Thanks for the heads up as I thought I was always talking to the front desk. Now I know better.
