BC queen beds/day bed issue question?

I have a room booked at Beach Club for my family..four of us. My son is 16 and my daughter is 9 will be close to ten. The reason I picked BC was because of the two queen beds and day bed option (like we had at the Poly) . Called today to confirm a few things and was basically told "Not guaranteed (which I knew) if there's a family of five they'll pull it from you because you only have four."

What do I do? My only guarantee of three beds was bunks at WL or AKL. Hubby wants to wait it out and see what happens but he's against DS and DD sleeping in the same bed at their ages....just his thing. I'm nervous if we get there and all we get is two queens he's going to flip. What are my chances of it all working out...meaning do the majority -- or more than not -- have the two queens/day bed option for rooms? For the record, I checked switching to Poly too because I love it there and nothing was available and she said that wasn't a guarantee either. Gah!

We stayed at BC recently as a party of 6. Five plus an infant and had expected a daybed, but they were booked solid so we didn't get it. We tried to get moved even a day or two later but there were no other rooms available with daybeds. So they got us a cot instead and ODS slept on that. It was actually pretty comfy and it stands upright during the day so it doesn't have to be in your way.

Crud...was told today too that they "don't do cots" anymore. ARGH! Not sure what to do!!

I am pretty sure they still do rollaways, if needed! Perhaps post in this in the BC & YC faq thread. Lots of very knowledgeable posters there, including a BC CM named Teena who knows just about everything BC. Good luck!

I will thanks!

Why couldn't you sleep with your daughter and your husband with your son if you don't get the daybed?

Both wouldn't go for that one! Now daughter is balking at the daybed so we might just switch over to WL in the bunk bed rooms!! ARGH! This is supposed to be fun planning and they're driving me nuts!

My guess is it's probably a 50/50 chance that you will get a daybed. Parties of 5 are given preference for those rooms, but sometimes even then they aren't available. With that said, a roll away should be available should you want one. Other than booking at WL or AKL with bunk beds, your only other option to be guaranteed a 3rd bed (daybed) is the CR (other than the Poly). Just to clarify, if the CM told you a daybed isn't guaranteed at the Poly, she gave you wrong information as all rooms at the Poly come with a daybed. Good luck deciding on whether or not to change resorts, but I hope you get a daybed should you stick with the BC.

Well I don't know if its officially a cot. It looks like a twin mattress on a metal frame that can be put up during the day. A rollaway as others called it but its a real mattress so maybe not what people think of as a cot.

We always bring an air mattress, have the kids alternate nights on it, but last time at bc we got a rollaway. It was bcv actually.
