Well i just have a mini report for you guys from the SAB (18-21 july)!.

I was standing in line to ride the slide, bottom of stairs, and 1 guy about 45 yo was infront of me, he was wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts (not bathing shorts) and a pair of shoes. He also had a pair of glasses (old type with chains). His daughter was infront of him wearing an ugly purple top and a pink miniskirt (hello McFly, who wears a miniskirt while going down a slide ).

They didnt have a wrist band, but off they went down the slide. Later i saw them in the pool, the dad walking around in the water with his glasses, T-shirt and shoes, smiling like a nerd!.

His daughter was standing above him, and soon his wife joined him in the water, wearing a regular swimsuit (she looked normal to me!). The daugter then loud said "dad, lets go to the lazy river (behind her)", he then said "there is no lazy river, its just the same as being here".

A lifeguard then passes by, and the daugter asks loud: "Excuse me, is there a lazy river here" .

The lifeguard then says "sure, right behind you".

1 day later i saw them at the market in the BC shopping, and guess what, they had nice clothes on!!.

Biggest nerds i have seen in a long time, i realy had a hard time not laughing when i was in the water beside her family.

I hope that family does not look at these boards. Why do you find it amusing or think anyone else would find it funny about making fun of people?

I'm sorry.. but I didn't find your post or the story funny either. Maybe there's a reason why they were wearing their regular clothes. Maybe they are waiting for their bags to come in from DME and they never thought of packing their "day bag." And it was sooo hot that day and they didn't want to waste their park tickets on that arrival day, so they just braved it and went down the slide and went swimming with their clothes on.

I didn't find the glasses with the chain nor the purple top with the pink mini skirt funny. Some folks may not look "hip" or "hot" or "cool" ... but I don't think it's nice to talk about them and laugh. I guess that's your sense of humor. I'm sorry...

So if it makes you feel better to make fun of others, knock yourself out.

I must say I used to act just like you, but then I got into the 5th grade and grew out of it.

Thanks for interveneing Safetymom!!...guess some of us still need a "mom" to keep us civil!!

To the OP...I just add a word of caution....those who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones....in other words, be very careful who you call names....people who tell tacky stories about others that aren't even faintly amusing and consider themselves to be clever might be something worse than "nerd"-ish!!

But I admit to being confused as to why this thread is on the DVC board. It started on the resorts forum and was moved here. Don't see the DVC connection myself?
