For our next trip, our oldest will be turning 2 yrs old and we will have a baby who will be around 3 months old.

We are currently booked at AoA in a Nemo suite. We thought that having a separate room would be helpful in letting our 2 yr old sleep without the baby waking her up at night. I also thought I might be spending a little more time in the room with a newborn.

Today I discovered we could upgrade to BC for just $300 more for the week.

I am so torn.

Pros to AoA
- lots of extra space
- separate rooms to help 2 yr old sleep without being bothered by baby
- close to extended family (staying at Pop)
- DD loves Nemo and LM

Pros to BC
- SB
- walk/boat to Epcot, DHS and Boardwalk
- it's BC!

I am really concerned about being all in one room with a 2 yr old in a pnp and a baby probably in a bassinet of some sort.

help us decide!

Ok I think I just figured it out to be beach club (duh lol) ...... I have never been to either one- we are staying at aoa and we are super excited. If you have little ones, I think it would be really nice especially if your child enjoy the Pixar movies :) there will be children at all the resorts of course but I personally vote aoa, enjoy your trip :)

I'd save the BC for when your kids are old enough to enjoy SAB. Nobody's going to be making much use of the slide and all the deluxe amenities with a 2 year old and an infant in tow. The walk to Epcot and boat to DHS are nice, but you will probably spend more time at the MK.

The AoA is really perfect for the ages your kids are. It will be great to be able to put them down for the night, but still have a separate space for you and your husband to talk, relax, etc.

My family stayed at the AoA in a Cars suite last year and it was really wonderful. The pool and splash zones were great for little ones. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Yay glad to hear you enjoyed aoa- makes me more excited for my stay now- the suites were a bit pricy for us so we are in lm standard room but the resort looks amazing :)

My vote is for AOA too. I think you'll enjoy the separate bedroom and extra bathroom. We are staying there in September with our 4 year old. It's only 3 of us but we needed the extra space since my DS goes to bed so early.

With a two-year-old and a newborn, I'd be looking at the Contemporary. It's a short walk to Magic Kingdom with the kids in the strollers.

I just moved my ressie for the end of Aug from YC to AOA suite with a 12DS and a 6DD because of the extra space and it was only $20 less for me to stay at AOA by the extra bath and room are priceless. :rotfl:

We made a similar choice for our trip this past January. Ultimately we chose a 1 bedroom at BLT over a room at the Poly. We were also traveling with an infant and it was great to be able to put him to sleep in the bedroom. Our son slept on the pullout in the living room. When the baby woke up at night a few times, our older son was not disturbed. I don't know if the AOA suites also have a washer/dryer and kitchen, but we really appreciated those perks, too. I agree that SAB would be better with older kids. Plus, saving money and getting extra space to spread out seems pretty great. Two bathrooms is wonderful!! Enjoy your trip, whatever you choose!

BC is amazing and in my top 3 but with the kids you might want to look at the suite at AoA unless you can afford doing a suite in a deluxe resort.

I've stayed in all three categories of WDW resorts (value, mod, deluxe) since my own childhood. Now, we have three boys (now ages 6, 12 and 13) and we've been taking our kids to WDW frequently since our oldest was tiny. No question, we'd go deluxe with kids.

Even with the extra space of an AOA suite, we'd still go deluxe with kids. The BC atmosphere is just what you'll need at the end of a busy day with the little ones. Eliminating stroller on the bus for two parks (Epcot and DHS) is worth a ton. The zero depth sandy area of SAB is perfect for a 2-year-old and the SAB environment is relaxing for mom and dad.

When your kids are a little older and are both really into MK, Poly would be fun for you to try. But with a 2-year-old and infant, I'd say definitely BC!

Good luck with your decision and have a great time!!!

We are doing BC with twin almost 2 year olds and a 4 year old this trip mainly because of the convenience to the parks. I thought about the suite but with the cost already higher than a mod we opted for a deluxe with a bigger room than a mod but we still all share one room. My experience has been when we've had to all sleep in the same room the kids pretty much tune each other out. And my twins wake a LOT on their own. So the separate room isn't important enough for me while location and not taking buses everywhere is a great plus.

We'll find out next week if we chose right-lol.

I feel like it is fair to warn you, I am a Deluxe snob! :rotfl2:

Which is why the following surprises me! BUT, I would personally do the AOA. My kids are decent sleepers but not perfect. So if they can see me or each other, they are more likely to wake up. They are currently 3/1. So for me, the space and ability to put one down and keep one awake is priceless. I really don't think you'd get your money's worth out of YC/BC amenities at those ages. SAB is for older kids (DD3 liked it OK but wasn't yet a great swimmer so there was a lot she couldn't enjoy). I love the Epcot locations for the walkability of DHS/Epcot but we don't yet spend much time at either. And the bus ride to MK made me wish I was back in the MK resort area instead. Or spending less for more room. So I'd do AOA. Bright colors, movie themes, what's not to like? If you and DH had your parents coming along as sitters so you could go out to eat and stuff, I would totally change my mind.... But my opinion is that you'd be on the bus to MK anyway, go for the space and sleep! Plus, their kids pool is supposed to be great as well. Crowded, but great.

My DH and I took our 20 month old twin sons to YC last year. We are planning to take another trip in August this year (They will be 26 months old). Our stay at YC was perfect last year. We were nervous about only having one room, but the balcony allowed my dh and I a spot to go and relax after the boys fell asleep. The location of being able to walk to EPCOT and HS was wonderful for us. Both of my boys fall asleep easily in their stroller, so when they fell asleep, we just came back to the resort and put them to bed.
This year I really wanted to try out a monorail resort, so we decided on the contemporary. I keep having second thoughts because AOA family suites also sounds wonderful. I think my kids would love the theme of AOA and the pool areas. However, we decided since we spent so much time at MK and Epcot last year, that it would be better for us to stay on the monorail.
Personally, I think every vacation is what you make of it, so wherever you end up staying, will work out perfectly!
