I've heard that the Beach Club does beach parties where they show disney movies on a big screen and sell s'mores kits. I was thinking of having a "no pressure, come-if-you-want-mee-and-greet" (to use lurkyloo's phrasing) for my wedding. We really don't have the funds to put on another event but we want to be able to collect everyone in one place to meet if they so desire. Now, because the wedding is a Monday this even would be either Saturday or Sunday if at all possible because I think everyone will be there by then. I'd like to send this information out with the invitations, is the schedule pretty much the same all the time?

Does anyone know when they hold these beach parties? can my guests staying off Disney property come to the beach parties? I am I crazy, lol Are these beach parties real? Any other ideas for a welcome party/meet and greet?

Yes, they do do movies and marshmallow roasts on the beach at the Y/BC (not sure which). The last time we stayed at the BW we got a schedule that covered the entire month and listed the time and movie they'd be showing on each day of the week they did this at the Y/BC. So, I think they put the schedules out once a month.

I'm not sure if they change each month or if they're on specific days of the week. For some reason, I remember thursday being a pretty consistent day. Maybe you could call a month in advance and ask about it at the resort itself. Then just send out a separate announcement via snail mail, email, or have it be in a welcome bag/packet waiting for your guests in their room.

That's my two cents. Take it or leave it. :goodvibes:

Oh, one more thing. There's an ice cream parlor/burger shop, I think it's called Beaches 'n' Cream, where you could meet up before the movie starts and take milk shakes on the beach too.

Again "two cents." :goodvibes:

yes they have a marshmallow roast (and depending on whose working some sing alongs) on the beach at the BC every night and then they show a movie while everyone pulls up a towel or chair. They did a monthly calendar when we've been and the movies change by that. The movie is the same every Monday or Tuesday etc of that month.

We always like to enjoy the movie.

In inclement weather they move to the Solarium and play Wii games and then show the movie on the TV.

You could easily have people meet in the Solarium before the movie and go over together.

Just remember there will be lots of us regualr folks on the beach watching the movie,

Beaches n Cream is a very busy place at night and the take out window can be very long depending on time of yr if you do as PP suggested to go there first for shakes.

I'd say meeting at the Solarium is a great idea and I've seen lots of people do just that. Note that the BC staff may ask you to leave if you disturn the guests watchign the movie....we've seen that more than once actually.

I know of another bride who made up her own smores kits and had her guests meet and Fort Wilderness for the movie so this is very possible.

The BC atmosphere just can't be beat according to my family

PS the marshmallows.....they have been free in the past and then charged for but in June they were free again. I'd check on that in my decision making of time to meet. do both or just the movie
