BBQ in the Orlando Area

Trola,
I totally agree, we love Sonny's but the one in Orlando/Kissimmee just isn't up to snuff. I am a little bit disappointed with the local Sonny's here though, about a week ago they changed their menu and all the prices went up, even the kid's meals, and they eliminated a lot of items from their menu as well, including what I normally eat every time. I used to get the ribs/beef combo, that way I could get the beef that I liked and still have a rib or two, usually my dh finished it up for me, but now you can't even order that so the last time we went the only way I could partially get that was to get the super combo, which has beef, pork, ribs, chicken, way way too much food for me, so I got this but substituted extra beef for the pork, (dont care for the pork) and when the meal came out the two ribs that I got were so tough that I couldn't eat them I politely asked the waitress if I could get some ribs that I might be able to eat, and she said, no not really! I was a little taken a back, so we finished and left, the more I thought about what she said I got more and more upset, because if there is one thing that I believe in, it's that the custome is always right, and that really made me mad. So, we haven't been back. Hope this doesn't mean a decline in our local restaurants. sorry for the long post, just needed to tell somebody else that.

Kim, we weren't impressed with the new menu, either. I guess it probably streamlines things for the kitchen, but several of our first and second choices are also gone now! The one positive was that kids do still eat free on Saturdays (does this sound important to me? ). I didn't notice the change in prices too much because a friend picked up the check. Sorry about the bad ribs!! I can't believe the waitress didn't even try to get you something else!! I hope your next experience there is much better.

I must say that the food at the Flametree bbq at Ak was not all that bad either considering it was park food. I would not make it a destination for bbq BUT at least if you happen to be there it might make your lunch choice easier.
