No jazz up for me. I'l take it straight up, medium.
Me too. I had never heard of putting stuff in them until the DIS. I've never seen a restaurant do it either. I'd like it (I like meatloaf, etc.), but my family wouldn't.
We make them a lot so I tried a mixture of recipes from the net. This one definitely works!!![]()
2 lbs ground beef (1/2 ground beef and 1/2 ground sirloin)
1 packet Onion Soup Mix
One beaten egg
3/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup italian bread crumbs finely ground
Grill as usual and top with
Your favorite BBQ sauce mixed with about a cup of coke.
Brush with the sauce when done.
AWESOME BURGERS!!!![]()
Make it even BETTER by combining the sauce and coke and reducing it a little... maybe 25%.... more intense flavor.
Now, where was this thread earlier today, before I was in the store looking at the turkey burgers that were on sale? I'll definitely buy them next time! For each 1/4 pound of hamburger, mix with 2 Tbs of blue cheese dressing. Marinate 10 minutes or more. (More is better.) Grill. This is even more fabulous with ground turkey. (Regular ground turkey, not turkey breast.)
Also, take 1/4 lb. ground turkey burger, mix with 2 Tbs of ranch dressing, 1 tsp melted butter & 1 Tbs of grated parmesan cheese and S&P. Marinate 10 minutes or more.
These grill great on the George Forman grill too. They come out as exceptionally juicy, flavorful burgers. Yum!![]()
Try mixing in taco seasoning in the hamburger before you make it into patties. The powdered ranch dressing mixed in is very good too.
