Oh I will Kaylee, I loved the Maria one so will def watch this:thumbsup2

I havent seen anything about it, is it the same sort of thing as Maria was? I really liked that show so if it is I will be watching. Love the songs from Joseph!

All together now "I CLOSED MY EYES....!"

I'll be singing alone (which will irritate DH and DD ) :rolleyes1

I will definately be watching, I love things like this on a Saturday night, anything I dont have to concentrate to hard on whilst guzzling wine

I love anything to do with musicals and dancing (some of you will know that DS dances, and I am known to don the old tap shoes every week!!).

I will definitely be watching but will have to record the first one as DS and I dancing in a competition that night. I hasten to add that I am dancing with my tap group in the adult section, and DS will be dancing his new trio in the section before!! We don't dance against each other - He's far better than me!

Ooh thanks, Kaylee. Matt is putting it into the planner now. I didn't watch Maria, but I was in a choir as a young teenager and Joseph was one of several Lloyd-Webber/Rice musicals we performed. I still remember every word to every song. Altogether now:

I closed my eyes
Drew back the curtain (ah-ah ah)
To see for certain (ah-ah)
What I thought I knew.
And in the east (and in the east)...

We'll be watching - glad there will be something to replace Dancing on Ice as my Satruday night viewing (I am so sad and have no life :sad2: )

Like Deb, I was also in a school production of Joseph......:rolleyes1 so no doubt I'll be watching and singing along too...but not on Saturday though............I'm off to see Connie in The Sound of Music!!!!:dance3:

Go go go now Joseph, you know what they say
Come on now Joseph, you'll make it someday
Sha-la-la Joseph you're doing fine
You and your dreamcoat ahead of your time

We didn't watch the Maria programme (would have done if I'd known John Barrowman was in it  ) but love Joseph so will defo be watching this. Got it in the planner. And it follows Doctor Who :thumbsup2

Laur's princess:

Since I was in the choir for this in a school play, I have flashbacks from the musical now!!! :lmao:

:rolleyes1: I Look Handsome, I look Smart!
I am a living Work of Art! :rolleyes1:

As I was never in the school choir, so I can safely say I won't be watching it :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now if Donny Osmond was presenting it - then I may change my mind :thumbsup2

I hope you all enjoy it

I'm ready to watch, I write and produce musical type shows my self so I can't wait.
Some of moy current adult cast members auditioned - they said it was tough and the producers were more interested in their life stories and backgrounds before they auditioned! :rotfl:

Oh, another one of those programmes. aaaaaaaghghghg

It must be just me. Do we really have a problem with professional performers doing professional performances in professional theatres? Why does everything have to be a competition, usually with someone who 'has a story' which is usually the clue for sad or inspirational music, and people buy the story and vote.

I understand the girl who won the Sound of Music competition has realised that going from nothing to singing eight shows a week is tiring - that's why musical performers to an 'apprenticeship' by being in the chorus and doing small parts - and has had loads of time off sick and wil only do certain shows now.

That's not to say some of these people aren't talented: they are. Personally if I'd paid £40 + to see a show I'd like to rest assured that the performers I'm paying to see have been chosen by experienced theatre professionals. Not by someone who's got half an eye on the Bella crossword and half a mind on the friends telephone call about thier marital/child/wedding/spot welding problems.

It is just me isn't it...

What I like about programmes such as this, Rob, is that talented people who might not otherwise have been lucky enough to have become professionals in the first place get an opportunity. I don't imagine that all 'professionals' find their way into the industry through sheer hard work alone - many of them must have had a lucky break, so I can't begrudge anyone their own route. Having said that, once they find that break, they should honour it. I know nothing about the Sound of Music show, nor the girl who won, but if what you're saying is true, she needs a good kick up the backside.
