BBC America Thread

I laugh harder at Top Gear than any other show...My favorite was the Vietnam special when they had to go on scooters....the gift of the boat....I loved it!!!

I love BBC shows. Favorites are Dr. Who and Torchwood.

Is Torchwood really coming back with another season? Any rumors about who will make up the new team?

I am really unsure about the new doctor, but I really liked all of Steve Moffat's episodes, so the new season will probably be really good.

right now there are rumours of an American version of Torchwood being developed by Fox. It appears that Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner will be involved and that there is a possibility that John Barrowman will come on as Captain Jack. Not sure how I feel about this though. Fox has a bad history with Sci-Fi shows(they all tend to get cancelled at some point during their first season it seems), but the fact that Russell and Julie would be working on it, might sway me.

Plus for the UK comics there's also Catherine Tate aka Donna from Doctor Who.

Our house is full of BBC America lovers. DH and DS love Top Gear. I am a Demons, Being Human, Torchwood and Graham Norton. Love his show last night of the recap of best parts of this seasons show. :lmao:

Eddie Izzard is the best. Are there any of you out there who love "How Clean is Your House?" My son and I just love this show. It's so outrageous the way they stick their fingers in dirt and grime and even these people's toilets!!!! OMGoodness, we laugh so hard and bet on how long it will take for them to bend down and sniff the bathroom rug. :rolleyes1

I LOVE the BBC! I rarely watch BBCA though. I am addicted to BBC Radio! You can listen to all their stations online and they have LOTS of stuff on demand! BBC Scotland is a fave, but I listen mostly to BBC 3 (classical music), BBC 4 (documentaries, quiz shows) and BBC 7 (Comedy and drama). They just had some stuff on from Eddie Izzard and I have been enjoying replays of classic Sherlock Holmes dramatizations on BBC 7. They have dramatic readings of books and short stories, in addition to dramatizations. I heard one this week starring Hugh Laurie.

My favorite BBC 4 shows are Brain of Britain and The Unbelievable Truth.

I tried watching their TV programming online, since I was missing the new Emma and the latest Poirot episodes, but it says you have to be in the UK to watch them online. I've been begging DH to set up a proxy for me, but if anyone knows another way I can tune in directly or even watch their shows on demand, I would be so happy to hear it...:)

Graham Norton is a major guilty please and yes I even watched the Maria and Joesph reality shows (granted a mid week UK Jack fix was the major reason).

Sign me up! I'm a BBC America junkie too. I'm going to check out The Inbeetweeners tonight!

Ashes to Ashes returns for second season on BBC America this summer. The premiere has not been scheduled yet.

Graham Norton is back on Saturday nights with new shows! :happytv:

I've never seen that show. What is it about?
And speaking of shows returning, Dr. Who is back!! I actually really like the new doctor but only time will tell if he can live up to David Tennant.

DH and I love Dr. Who and Torchwood! We really enjoyed Robin Hood and truly miss it! We watch Graham Norton every once in a while.

We watched the Maria and Joseph reality shows! Loved Lee! Excited that he and Denise Van Outen are married and having a baby any day now! I picked him from the start!

Fan on Facebook of the new Over the Rainbow show they are doing over in England! Hope they show it over here at some point!

We actually had some friends from church over on Saturday to watch the premiere with us! They are huge Dr. Who Fans as well!
