I am stuck at home due to a state wide blizzard!!! The state of North Dakota is in a blizzard warning until Monday morning. Should end up with about 8 inches plus major drifting:scared1: All interstates are closed, no mall.... so what do I do? Dream of Disney!!:goodvibes
Anyone have any fun stuck inside because of the weather stories?

No winter weather here.

Best wishes! Stay safe, and warm--I kind of like being stuck in the house snow days, as long as you have power and heat-it might be fun!

I am so sorry, I don't know what to tell you except I just turned on my air conditioner. Yep, it is like 77 in the house right now. Had to cool it down some. Here in Texas, we go up and then down, it's like a roller coaster. Wearing shorts today, but the high for tomorrow is only 49. By Wednesday, back up again.

I couldn't live where it snows, been there done that, won't do it again. I'll take my roller coaster over snow any day.

We are expecting a massive snowfall on Tuesday, but my winter weather story happened this morning.

It started out really warm...48 degrees when I went to take the dog out. I was wearing a t-shirt. Around 8:30, I left to go to Walmart to pick up a few things before Sunday School. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. As I am going through the automatic car wash, I see this wall of black, swirling clouds coming from the west. It looked to me like "The Nothing" in "The Neverending Story". If you have see that movie, you know what I am talking about. I seriously wondered for a second if there was a huge fire somewhere...that's what the clouds looked like. All of a sudden, the sky turned dark and the wind picked up. I left the car wash and headed to Walmart. As I am driving, the water on the car is freezing. It went from 48 degrees and sunny to 23 degrees and snowing in a matter of about 10 minutes. Freaky!!

:cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

We are in the deep freeze too. 35F below zero!! Brrrrrrr, is right.

My children had ski practice today but it was cancelled and that means COLD!! These children are used to subarctic temperatures, so it is a big deal to cancel.

But we are happy, staying warm inside by the fire. It's only the dogs who have to make the short trips outside who have to brave this nasty cold snap and they aren't venturing far from the door before they zip right back in.

Stay warm!

Stay warm, make a pot of homemade soup and watch some tv... Not much else you can do. We've been lucky here in the Northeast so far, except for Maine.. they had an ice storm.... :scared1:

I know how you feel. I graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. I was there from 1994-1998. Back then, I was a frat boy. When we had those blizzards, We would drink to warm up. I no longer do that since I graduated, and I now live in Arizona.

I hope things don't get to bad for you. Hopefully the Red River doesn't flood again. I was there for that also. Not fun.

Be safe, and take care.

We have the cold temps and the wind but not as much snow as you do. It was really nice here this morning then the front moved through and it went from a balmy 40 down to wind chills below zero in an hour. We had rain last night so there is now a nice coating of ice on the roads.

It is 80 and humid here in sunny St. Croix... it's always 80 here...

It is sixty-one here right now. Yesterday we barely made it out of the forties. I really really hate winter in Florida. I want it to get cold and stay cold. The roller coaster temps are the pits.

You could come here to Denver...we've got -11 at the moment. :scared1: I'm wondering why I let my DH talk me into moving here from Scottsdale, AZ.

I hear you, we are in central MN and we have ice, snow and dangerous wind-chills.

We actually were in Fargo yesterday. We were suppose to be there until today but when we heard about the blizzard coming we got out of town as soon as we could. We left Fargo around 12:30 yesterday afternoon!

I heard Interstate 94 and 29 are closed down. Yuck!

Stay warm and keep that nasty stuff up there ;)

I just flew in from North Carolina back to New York. It was the same exact temperature today! It was 60 there and 60 here. I thought being in the south would be alot warmer. Heading to Florida on friday before it gets too cold up here!

yup....I've actually lived in Colorado and ND....I think I prefer CO...in North Dakota you kind of get used to it.

My favorite cold weather story is the mother's day when my oldest turned 3 (so 95')in Billings, MT. We started the day going to church in winter coats, went into Chuck E. Cheese's in shirt sleeves and pants, and to a concert at 6 PM in shorts!!:rotfl:

After shoveling 9 inches of snow off my driveway today I feel your pain!!! Even my 4wd had a hard time yesterday going up the hill to take the boys to karate!!!

Right now we are in the low 20's but are expecting snow for the next 6 days with total accumulations of about 9 more inches or more.

Stay warm, safe and dry!

11 below with the wind chill here. Not having any fun. Icy roads double not having any fun:headache:  :scared:

Well, at least you still have power. I live in the NE and we've been out of power at home since Friday around 4 am.

It's 6 outside here, windchill is -16. They're calling for snow tomorrow, but expect less than an inch.

In other words, it's a nice balmy Chicago day! ;) :cold:

Anyone have any fun stuck inside because of the weather stories?

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work today, but I do remember a day a few years ago when we had a fairly significant snowstorm (nothing like what you all get up north, but siginificant for us!) and I ended up leaving work early to head back out to my parents' house to housesit for them (they were actually AT WDW at the time). It was like a lovely little Christmas present to discover that the Travel Channel was doing one of its Disney marathons all day that day. I just lay on the couch under blankets and watched TV for like 6 solid hours. :goodvibes

HAHA:lmao: :lmao: Those of you with sunny hot weather stories are so funny!! Quick rubbing it in;) . I so can't stand the cold weather of the north.. not sure WHY I still live here:scared1: Maybe I will go somewhere warm when I am done with school.
My son and i managed to survive, played games, drank hot cider, watched movies.... it was hard, but we managed:rotfl2:
thanks for sharing your stories:woohoo:
