We are planning a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for my 6 year old daughter this summer. She wanted to be Belle in her yellow dress but now has changed her mind. For halloween she picked out a beautiful pink princess (no specific princess) looking dress, it looks like a southern belle costume. It is very pretty. She wants to wear this one to BBB now. What do you experienced BBB goers think about this? Thanks. pirate: princess:

Hello,

last year we did BBB and only had a non-princess dress. she wore it and got a lot of compliments because it was different! No worries, only at 6 will she feel "different"? last year my DD was 3 so she wa spretty oblivious.

Thanks for your reply. That is what I was wondering, if she will feel different. I think she just loves this pink dress. I will have to make sure she knows that everyone else will have on Disney Princess. pirate: princess:

A little OT but one year for halloween DD dressed as a princess. She wore a flower girl dress and I made a velvet cape and she used a Disney crown & wand. When some asked her what princess she was She proudly replied I'm princess Emma. princess: So I think you will be fine with any dress.

Well ... not EVERYONE else. Some girls don't do princess dresses at all -- they just want the make-over. And there are many girls who have generic princess dresses. You need to let her know that she'll see a lot of Disney princess dresses there, but I wouldn't make her feel like she'll be the ONLY one without one.

My dd did the BBB in April and I would say about 1/2 the girls were dressed up so your dd won't feel out of place.

I noticed alot of younger girls - with cute disney clothing but not costumes and some older girls who didn't dress up.

My dd did not want to dress up, she picked out a pretty sundress while shopping at home, fun and comfy and she definately felt like a princess.

I've seen plenty of girls walking around in non-disney princess dresses during our trips, and some of them had the BBB sash and hairstyles and makeup. I think your daughter will be fine if she is wearing a non-Disney dress. One thing I've noticed is girls wearing what looked like costumes from ballet recitals (ones with a long skirt, not tutus) and they easily passed for princess dresses. I used to be a dance teacher when I was in college so I know how expensive dance costumes are - it's a good way to get another use out of them!

I agree with the previous posters. As long as she doesn't want another dress, she will be fine.
The times I been there or walked by, about half the girls don't have any costume. (And it depends on the time of year too; it was always "too hot for a costume" for my daughters' tastes.) Of the girls with dresses on most seemed to have brought them--so they all varied--only a few where getting the complete princess treatment from the shop.

Thanks you guys for all of your replies. I really appreciate it. Knowing that not everyone will be dressed up makes me feel better. I will just let her wear whatever makes her happy. We can't wait. I know she will love the BBB experience. She is sooo girly! She can just be her own princess. We are planning on doing the afternoon tea at the GF after the makover. Thanks Again. pirate: princess:

Mom of boys here so no BBB experience but I'd let her wear whatever dress she wants. And good for her for being original. :cheer2:

She's an original, one of a kind Disney princess! :)

I agree, we saw tons of non princess or "other than disney " princess, so no worries, she will be YOUR beautiful princess!
Lucky YOU!!:goodvibes ;)

My DD (who was 8 at the time) wasn't, and still isn't, a "Princess-y" girl at all, but she wanted to do BBB. She wore shorts and a black Tink T, and she had a great time!! She didn't feel out of place at all.

My DD is wearing a really pretty type can can dress costume with the pantaloons and feather headpiece...:goodvibes She is 10 now and does not really want to dress up like a princess??:sad2:

We found this costume at Costumeexpress.com. It will look really pretty with the hair and makeup they do at BBB. Then we are headed to MNSSHP..Can not wait!!!:cool1:

BBB told me too just bring her costume along and she can change after the whole process is done.:wizard:

Thanks for all of your replies. I think I will let her change into her costume there. I think she would like the fancy looking dressing rooms. We can't wait! pirate: princess:
