BBB princess bun hairstyle

Oh, please, someone post a link to a site that can teach me how to do the bun myself! Pleeeeeease. Pretty please?

Surely there must be a little girl with bangs that has been styled with bangs down at BBB? This may be a deal breaker for us. I completely hate my DD's hair with her bangs off her face, sorry to say, but she has an oddly shaped forehead that the bangs hide very well.

I've seen the bun style with bangs left down. An acquaintance just had a pic of her DD posted on Facebook from a trip just last week with her bangs left down.

In 2010, my daughters FGIT left her bangs down with no problem, but in 2011 her FGIT said its not allowed. If its a deal breaker for you, I wouldn't do it. The "official" word is that it's not allowed, you just MIGHT get lucky with one that'll do it. Here's a side by side comparison of my daughter.

She's also done the Mermaid at the Pirates League and they put her bangs back for that as well.

Caravarela, your daughter looks beautiful with the hairstyle and the bangs pulled back!

As a note, just because you might be able to leave it in overnight or a couple of days, doesn't mean your DD will agree to that. It depends on the kid and how the hairstyle feels to them. The first time we did BBB, DD (then 4) did the bun and unlike the above beautiful picture, she looked more like a kid whose hair was pulled back so hard that her face looked like she had plastic surgery. Her BBB appointment was at 10:00 and CRT was at noon. Halfway through lunch at CRT she was already begging for the bun to come out because it was making her head hurt. She made it less than an hour after CRT before absolutely demanding that I get it out and crying that she had a headache. FYI- although there is a lot of goop in the hair, it is surprisingly easy to brush through and somewhat style if you wind up pulling the bun down in the parks mid-day. There was no way she was going to sleep on that bun and wear it again the next day.

We have been back to the BBB and DD has done the Diva Hairstyle. She loves that hairstyle and it doesn't bother her at all, but even then, she does not want to go to bed until her hair is down and all of the goop is washed out of her hair. She hates to go to bed when she feels like her hair is dirty, which she does with all the goop they put in it. Your DD may be okay with sleeping on the hairstyle and leaving it in for the next day, but she may not.

Yeah , the long half-life comment definitely applied to my one DD - she actually had a speck or two of the glitter that became embedded in her scalp - No kidding , it was weeks of gentle scraping by me using my fingernail before her scalp was clear . I wanted to go after it , but she is extemely tender headedThe bun itself lasted 3 days till I got her to go under in the poolprincess: .

My DD had her bangs left down last year. It wasn't a problem. In fact the FGIT asked us when she saw she had bangs.

As a PP said the FGITs are NOT liscensed in any way and are classified as "hair braiders" only which is why they cannot change the pre-aproved style. I really don't care for DD's hair with it pulled straight back like that, but she really wanted to do BBB so I dealt with it.

Exactly! Anytime one of the FGIT's alters the style she's risking losing her hair braiding license. There's also some Disney copyright things going on with the designs as well. When I was at TPL, we actually had to get approval from legal to remove the beard from the "Smokey Eye Jack" look.

I feel the same way about DD's hair and voiced that.they still said bangs had to go up because they cannot change the style. Maybe someone else had better luck, but I couldn't talk them into it.

Hmmm. If that is true, then that is a deal-breaker for us.

From reports here is appears that it really depends on who you get as your FGIT. As the CM above said, if they alter the style without approval form a higher up they risk losing thier liscense and thier job.

I would rather prepare DD for the possibility of having her bangs pulled back and have her make the choice of whether she wants to keep the appointment or not.

I always feel so sorry for those little girls with the buns. Their hair is pulled so tight, their whole face is pulled back and they look so uncomfortable. :faint:

I want it do the DIY version of BBB in our room. I have watched the Youtube videos and I think I know how they do the bun. I am not sure DD's hair will be long enough anyway. We will bring our own costumes, gel, glitter and make-up. I have crowns already. I figure I will save alotta $ and my girls will be ready for 1900 Park Fair Character Breakfast our first day at MK.

Anyone ever gone this? Any suggestions?
