BBB--is it worth it?

The other question I have is my ydd did a creative haircut on herself in Dec. She had shoulder length hair--all one length and decided she wanted bangs. So she cut some only 1 inch from the scalp and others a little longer and she cut a clump on the side about half way up. We are much better now, but still growing out. How long does your hair have to be to get the bun style? I have been growing her bangs out and then cutting her hair up to match. It is a couple inches short of her shoulders now. Not long enough for a pony tail. Should I keep growing it out? And wait till after Disney to cut it?

My oldest DD (4 at the time) cut her own shoulder-length hair 3 DAYS before our trip! She told me she wanted to look like TinkerBell when she went to Disney World!:scared1: Yup, she did! It was a cute little pixie cut, but not what I wanted to see 3 days before our trip, and her first trip to the BBB. She was able to get the same hairstyle shown in the previously posted pictures and you wouldn't have known her hair was really short. They really do work some magic!

We are going in August--first time. Girls have never been there or to Libby Lu. We are going to the castle on our last day for a late breakfast. Is it worth it to go? We would bring our own dresses. Will the hair last in the heat and maybe the pool? Thanks

When you say you're "going"-- do you mean to WDW or to BBB?

This will be my kids' 2nd time at WDW, and there's no reason for us to go to the BBB-- there's so much out there that they haven't yet seen or discovered. I would hate to spend the time or money there when it could be better spent elsewhere.

But if your kids have seen and done it all over and over, that's a different story.

Last year my girls wore princess dresses to their dinner at 1900 Park Fare, I did their hair in "up-do's" and they felt like royalty.

The going means 1st time to WDW. I have booked BBB for our last day so then I could cancel if we decide to. I think the girls would really enjoy it though.

YES!!! We visited BBB last vacation. DD1 was 4.5. We did everything from soup to nuts! You will do better $$wise by bringing ur own dresses but the experience is worth every penny. My dd was so thrilled with the whole experience. The fairygodmothers were wonderful. We had her appt(she was Belle) and we had lunch at Cinderella's Castle afterward. She was very insistent of going again. Since I had 2 ds's b4 her I cant help myself when it comes to princess dressups. lol I do have her booked for this vacation but not the castle package. We have the middle one i think it is the coach package(hair, makeup, nails) I told her we would do the big package again when little sis was of age. She will b 2 mo shy of 3 on vacation this year! As far as the hair lasting we went all day and night in her hair piece and makeup. It was about 90+ degrees. There were no issues.
Good Luck!
11 days 7 hrs 55min till vacation with Mickey

I have to ask where did you find that awesome jasmine costume your daughter dressed up in. I love it and was hoping to find one just like it. Please let me know. THanks a bunch!!!

It's so worth it!!!!! We just did this at DL last week, all 3 of us, for MY bday. lol We had so much fun. DD9 and I did the bun w/crown, DD12 did the one with the extentions. DD12 has shoulder length hair but it's got a ton of layers because it's very thick, the FGIT did a great job on her. It did take a while but not more than 45 min or so, we also had photos done with Cinderella's carriage so that took a little time as well. I've already told DD12 that when we go next month for her 13th we can take her if she wants. Oh and it lasted forEVER!!! I took mine down that night and washed it the next day (glitter all OVER my pillow LOL) and so did DD12 but DD9 left hers in, slept with it that night, left it in the next day, slept with it that night and went to school with it the next day! LOL So she got 3 days out of it, NO problems either, just 1 small piece of hair fell out but otherwise it was perfect.

I will be taking my 8 year old great niece in August and her mom is giving her the "BBB" for her birthday. McKenna will have it done at the Castle at 8am...their first appt. so I don't think we will get a late start....We are having dinner that evening at 1900 Park Fare and she doesn't know about that either:)

We have an appt for my DD to go to BBB at 8:30 a.m. Our ADR for Akershus is at 9:45 a.m. For those of you who have done this before....

Do you think we will have enough time to to get from BBB to Akershus?

What is the best/quickest route to use to get from MK to Epcot?

To MouserMom09: I don't think you'll make it. You will be at the BBB for at least 1/2 hour, if you get in on time. I would really count on being there for 1 hr total minimum (including the time it will take to walk back to the monorail). Then you'd have to take the monorail to the TTC and switch monorails to get to Epcot. Plus the walk from the monorail at Epcot to Norway isn't short. I'm not sure if there is a better transportation option for you.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I really appreciate it! :thumbsup2

I called and was able to get our ADR for Akershus changed to 10:30 a.m. So surely that will be plenty of time for my DD get all dressed up like a princess princess: and get to the restaurant, right?
