BBB Hairstyle? Doing it yourself??

I think I've got the bun part down from ballet, but is there somewhere I can purchase one of the little tiaras like the ones at BBB (or similar)? We've only got the big ones from her princess costumes, and they tend to be so large that they slip off her head!:confused3

You can buy very nice children's tiaras at bridal shops and fabric stores that have a bridal section: they are meant for flower girls and for girls making their first communion.

I remember the techniques from my own dance days, but I won't be having to do them for DD any time soon. As is typical in my family, the poor child is still essentially bald at age 2. I'm sure that her first "princess" tiara will be a headband.

Do think twice about using super-hold gel if you have a child who hates having her hair washed -- it takes a lot of shampoo, warm water and multiple rinses to get that stuff out.

I just bought a mini tiara at WalMart. If a Walmart near you has a craft department in it it should be there with the wedding/cake decorating stuff. It was $5.

Thanks also for all the tips on doing their hair. My girls have fine straight hair that will not stay put for anything. I was looking at the hair gels the other day and couldn't decide what to buy. Now I know!

You can get adorable rhinestone tiara's similar to those at BBB at Dollar Daze in the bridal section. They run about $5, but way cheaper than WDW. I like to wear one each day that I visit the parks:goodvibes

Saw several of them this weekend in the Disney Store at the Mall. They had pink and clear rhinestones, blue and clear, and all clear.

Just FYI - the Barbershop in MK does the bun thing MUCH cheaper then BBB. Only problem is they don't take reservations.

Thank you guys! You just saved me a bunch of money. I went today to the store and bought the things needed for my DD's hair to do it ourselves, and it turned out great. It's so cute! It looks just like in the pictures so needless to say, she was happy to have more spending money there and still have the look. I am going to buy her the other items needed once we get there but as for the hair, we are good.

One question though, what color glitter spray do they use? They only kind that I found today was a silver/gold.

Dunno abt. others but real glitter from a tube is what I prefer to sprinkle on hair. Gives better coverage and lasts longer. Just top it with good hairspray for hold. I can never remember brand names- but blue and yellow and the word "super"-something is what I look for when buying hairspray.... if they change the can design, I'm in trouble.
For cheer we use the more expensive cans of spray glitter from Sally's Beauty Supply or Walgreens (abt. $6) for the girls bodies. Unfortunately the cheaper stuff just flies right off and even the expensive glitter spray gets an overcoat of good hairspray. OMG- my cheerleaders are very sticky, I do believe- eeww!

I have seen those tiny metal tiaras in the barrette sections of most stores. I think Goody makes them and they usually have one of those fluffy sheer ponytail holders attached to the set in either pink or blue. Cost abt. $4.

Thanks to a great tip from another Diser, we use shimmery nights (I found it at CVS for approx 6.00) for glitter. It is a spray it gel with "diamonds". My DD has fine straight hair and this stuff is great!!!!
