BBB - hair question?

Hi - After reading some other posts about girls' hair after their BBB appointment, I am a little concerned about being able to get the glitter and spray out of my DD's hair. I was hoping to schedule a Photopass private photo session for our family at our resort later that same day before dinner but now I am worried that I won't be able to wash everything out of her hair! It sounds like it can take days for everything to completely wash out of girls' hair - is that true? Should I space out the BBB appt and the photo session by a few days?

Do you not want the BBB hairdo for your photo shoot? If you don't then I would do BBB on a different day. You want your dd to enjoy her hairdo for more than an hour or two They use gel on the hair and then the pixie dust glitter. We have done BBB 10x and it isn't too bad to get out. We typically let dd keep the style in for 2 days (the appt day and we wash the following night). The gel washes out in one washing, but you will still have pixie dust on the scalp for a few days after. Last trip we did the Barber Shop and that was MUCH harder to wash out!!!

My 4 year old has short hair.. a chin length bob style. Anyone have any experience with what they do with that? We want the "classic" style, no bright hair extensions.

I agree, space them out. Our girls went twice and we had no trouble getting all the stuff out with a normal washing but they wanted to leave their hair in for days and did. Both times we went on a Thursday morning (first appointment of the day) and left their hair in till Saturday night. Had I taken them and had them wash it out that night they would have been so sad. They use a lot of product and it holds well for a few days (in our experiences.) It might be cute to have their hair up for your family photo session, but if you don't want to them I'd say do it on different days for sure. I think you will be happy if you do.

My daughter has the same style hair and what they did for her was put as much hair as they could in the bun on top and then left a little down. It looked really cute still and she loved it. There are pictures of her in my trip report so you can see exactly what they did.

Thanks for everyone's advice!

I doubt my daughter will want to keep her hair in the BBB style more than the day. Even when I put her hair in a ponytail, braid or other style now, she wants it taken out and down before she goes to sleep at night. However, this is her first BBB experience so maybe that will not be the case this time!

I actually didn't even think of just keeping her BBB hairstyle for the photos. I guess maybe I though it would be too messy by the end of the day. I will either do that or just move the session to later in the week.

just about perfect for 2 days, and you can get another 2 days out of it with a bit of spray. (We have done it twice.)

I would think you would want her looking more natural for family photos.. I would do BBB a day or two after.

Actually, we did BBB on the first day and the photo shoot on one of the last.

My DD's very much the same - doesn't like her hair up - BUT her first visit to BBB she insisted on leaving it that way for three days. It even survived swimming. By the third day I had to bribe her to take it out with a blinking Mickey hat she wanted but couldn't wear with the hair!

My daughter has her done at BBB last Aug and that evening when we washed her hair - it took us about two good times but it all came out.

She has SUPER SUPER thick hair too.

I too would wonder why you wouldn't want her hair done the day for pictures - my DD would have loved to keep her hair 'forever". I was shocked they could put her hair in a bun as its sooo thick but those ladies are amazing!
