BBB eliminated photopass photographers

I know when they cut the photos at CRT they said it was because too many people left them behind.

Do they really think we believe that? IF anyone left them behind, it's probably because they weren't aware that they were included. People LOVE anything that is "free." That goes double if it's a decent quality picture with Cinderella. WOW!
 
Just wanted to share some info we received today. We called BBB today to confirm a change to my daughter's package at DS for 11/21 and asked about the Memory Maker/ Photo Pass being excluded. The BBB CM told my husband and I that they are still photographing the entire makeover that we will be able to upload and that we can also opt for the photo shoot with hard copies of that shoot at the end as well. She told us there was no news of it disappearing anytime soon and that we will have the full photographed experience through our Memory Maker Package when our Princess has her makeover in November. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately the CM's on the phone don't always have the latest information. I can confirm first hand this is incorrect as I reported in the first post of this thread. We were at the DS location on Tuesday 10/20 and all photopass photographers have been removed and are not allowed to enter the boutique. They still offer the photo shoot in the studio next door in guest relations, but nothing during the actual make-over. We were told it was eliminated a few weeks ago and the MK location will soon stop as well. Someone in this thread has since confirmed the MK will stop as of Nov 8th.

All the staff we spoke with were disappointed with the change (including a photopass photographer who had been taking pics for 10 yrs in the BBB). Everyone encouraged us to speak with guest relations regarding the change.
 
I am sorry that this is happening to everyone. While I have always been thankful my DD was too old for BBB when it started (because I think it's overpriced and unnecessary), I can imagine that the "in progress" photos are the best! Who doesn't love candids of the bride getting dressed for the wedding, and the look on her face when she's ready? Isn't this pretty similar to the in-progress shots at BBB? It makes me sad to think that these shots won't happen anymore. It makes me ANGRY that Disney sold this package to parents and is now cutting out part of what you paid for. IF Disney were interested in customer service, at the very least they should be cutting this as of a date in the FUTURE- that date being the day AFTER however far in advance they have accepted BBB reservations for. Sadly, Disney is becoming less and less about having the best customer service in the industry and more and more about wringing customers dry by offering less and less for increasingly higher costs. I just can't believe they are discontinuing PP during the makeovers.
(and it's even more insulting when you realize how many PP photographers are part of the college program... cheaper cost, no benefits for the company to pay, etc. GRRRRR>.......:furious:
 

This seems like such a bummer.

My DD never wanted to do BBB so we never had the experience. But, you've all got me intrigued about these Big Reveal photos. They sound adorable! Does anybody have a photo they'd be willing to share? I'd love to see what everyone says thy are going to miss so much.

Tried to post one of every step but we can only post 10 :) I'm not sure if we had a Photographer from start to finish because we paid for the package that included the photo shoot or what. I did notice that our photo-pass photographer took tons of photos while she was being made over. The bonus of which we received on MM :) She even took one of her Pre makeover sitting on the couch!

You are CORRECT! I just called them again and upfront the CM told us that there was no change and I explained a friend was just there this past week and how PP was not allowed in. She put me on hold and went to check. She got back on and told us that we were correct and that they did not have any note in their system about it yet but that DS no longer has PP and MK will end on 11/08. It is sad that this is happening and I am thankful for Disboards for being able to find out info ahead of time so I know to bring my own camera and not just my cell phone for pics.
 
I just checked my email and I have not yet received a response. Will post as soon as I do though!

If you are booking something with certain expectations, especially something so pricey, and then under the impression that you can utilize a service that you have also spent a good amount of money on because it is advertised that way through BBB PDFs and PP maps and info PDFs, then they should honor what is in writing until they formally change this information. I feel bad for the people who don't read the boards and do the amount of research that many of us here do and show up to find this surprise out at the time of their appointment. Disney should be ashamed of themselves... this is clearly bad customer service, but of course they cover themselves with that tagline of... prices and services subject to change without prior notice. Ugh!

This is exactly what I said in my email. We were all told about the photographer when we booked and its listed on the darn website. Its ridiculous that just because they are Disney they think its okay to bait and switch people.

And the CMs at BBB reservation line are still telling people about the photographer. 2 phone calls in the last 2 days and both CMs told us about photos, even AFTER we specifically asked about the info brought to our attention.
 
I'm also upset. Taking two little ones, buying memory maker and now this is not included? I'm willing to pay a premium for going to Disney. Would probably even be willing to pay a bit more to get the pics. Come on Disney nickel and dime us for a little more to give us a photographer there during the make over...... it's the Disney way you know!

I had quite an argument at DLR BBB last year. I had confirmed (and brought in writing-email) that if I had Photopass + and I was doing BBB (and I was specific: At DLR doing x packaging) were the portrait photos included without paying the extra $29.95 when I got there they said no. I told them in no uncertain terms that this was the information that they had given me, this information lead to my purcahsing decisions and if it is the wrong info its their problem not mine, they begrudgingly did it but made us wait a long time to do us (pushed anyone they could in front of us) and it was the worst service I have received at Disney bar none.

I dont get why it s so hard for their phone/email CMs to have the correct information, it is simply unacceptable to be telling people the wrong information when they are making choices about which things are worth the cost of adding on.
 
I am going to email today, I was at work all weekend and running around all day, I really want to take my time and get my thoughts across.
 
When making my girls appointments today I was told that there were still photographers there and she "couldn't imagine them ever getting rid of them! They have had them since the very beginning!".

Too bad I know otherwise :(
 
What a bummer! My little one has an appointment for BBB and I was looking forward to the photographer taking some good pics...
