BBB- Downtown or MK?

So we're surprising our 4.5 year old with BBB reservation on our next trip at the end of August!!!
She's gonna be SOOOO excited either way but the only morning reservation I could get was at the Downtown Disney location. Is the one in MK Cinderella castle a better/more magical location? I was thinking of trying to call every so often between now and our trip to see if they have any cancellations in the MK location but was wondering if it was worth the trouble?

We've done them both and they are both pretty much the same. The only difference is you're in the castle! Last year we did the one at DTD and my daughters Fairygodmother in training was Awesome!

I'd go for MK! I am surprising my neice of the same age and felt MK would just be more magical overall. I was told to call every morning. I found one pretty easily, amazingly.

I think MK is definitely more popular. It's certainly harder to get an appt in the castle than in DTD. I have one in DTD and haven't been able to switch it to MK, as it's booked solid for my entire trip!! If you can get a MK appt, I'd do that!!

We choose DTD and did it on a non park day & did 1900 Park Faire for dinner. Her hair was fine the next day,not quite as awesome but good.

At that age they really won't care or notice the difference TBH. With my oldest DD had done both. My second DD was 3 last summer and we went to DTD. It actually was a wonderful experience. She was taken to the front window of the store for her makeover to a princess. Her big sis and I were thrilled and thought that was very cool but she was just enthralled with the whole experience and besides seeing daddy and her brother and baby sis in the window watching had no idea it was special. It was about the experience not the location.

I don't think it makes a big difference unless you were going to do the whole "eat in the castle" sha-bang too, but, I would say that from doing both, at MK there was some cute little photo op set up in the castle once your makeover is complete and the pics are adorable. I don't recall DTD location having anything like that, but then again, it was a complete zoo, they were so busy. Second, the makeover at the park drew much more attention, I'm guessing because we are at the parks and CMs are trained to fawn over dollied up gals that were potentially BBB patrons. I mean, every ride, every store she stepped into, everywhere, she was referred to as princess with a small head bow. She soaked it in and loved it. We didn't do a park the day of the DTD makeover, therefore, she kinda just got lost in the crowd, not really standing out. I can give you advice that of all our visits, MK booked up much faster. Just a FYI to help you plan. I'm excited for you and hope your girl has a magical time!

Yeah we made a reservation already for DTD bc that's all we could get for the morning. They had a couple afternoon openings at MK but they were for 3pm or later and I thought she would have more fun in the morning so she had the opportunity to wear it all day!

Thanks for all the advice!!! I'm sure she will just be excited we're going! She doesn't know about it eeeeek!!!

My dd has done both. Overall, I think the MK one is better. However, they offer the same product and are generally the same. I just thought our FGIT was better and the décor was bit better. My daughter had a great time at both. She won't know the difference. Maybe try to switch it if you can but don't sweat it if you can't.
