I have a question...I have little girl with mixed hair. It is not bad to comb out right after her shower. She has the kind of curls when you pull them out and let them go they bounce right back. When they style their hair at BBB is it wet or dry? If it is dry I don't think we will be able to do this.

To do my daughter's hair, they used a spray bottle and soaked it when they started.

Same! They get so many different hair types, that at this point I'm sure they can tackle every one of them.

This was my concern with my daughter. She is also mixed and has the same hair type you mentioned. Wet it will comb easily and curls bounce right back, dry, not as easy to comb and because a big ball of madness.

I looked at video's on youtube and came across one with 2 little mixed girls and they did great with their hair. Just make sure you bring a comb and/or brush that works best with your daughters hair.

Thanks for all the replies. She is interested in BBB but I know how she gets when I do her hair and am a little worried. Now not as much.

At first I was confused about "mixed" hair but I take it to mean your daughter is biracial. My daughter is African American and has very thick, long unprocessed hair. She cries when I wash it and comb it at home. We did BBB last year, and I will tell you the Caucasian hairdresser, Erica had no.problem with her hair. She never even needed the comb, brush, and hair care products we brought. We washed and combed out her hair and just pulled it up into a.pony tail. When we got there BBB had appropriate products and tools. She had her hair in the bun with the crown. It was brushed back smoothly and lasted 2 days.

The fairygodmother in training told my DGD that she was spraying her hair with grape pixie dust to help style her hair...

Thick, coarse, curly, frizzy are the appropriate terms. :goodvibes
You can be biracial with dead straight hair or blonde hair. All liitle girls are welcome BBB.

You are correct, I have a biracial friend who has softer silkier hair than mine, but that being said, not all hairdressers know how to style African American hair. My hairdresser, admittedly doesn't, but has referred us to a colleague of his that does, and she does my girls' hair.

This was a big concern of mine last year because my daughter, then 3, really wanted to go to BBB. Her hair is so thick, it is very curly and very long (when you stretch it out LOL) When I called to make the appointment I asked about this in particular as her hair is unprocessed. I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem.

The advice I was given was to wash it and comb it out, which I did. I pulled it into a ponytail to keep it from getting tangled before the appointment. When I took the ponytail out and showed the hairdresser her hair in all it's "glory" (this kid has enough hair for 2 grown women) the hairdresser said, "No problem," and pulled the appropriate products and tools out of her drawer.

My daughter's hair came out beautifully, and she didn't even cry! (that was a 1st BTW)

As you can tell by the picture, she has a lot of hair. She does not get many down hair days.....

Her hair is just so curly and I make sure to use good shampoo and conditioner to keep it as soft as I can. She likes to have her hair straightened with an iron every now and then I allow it but not very often. I don't want to ruin her hair.

She's adorable!

But you will be fine. My daughter's hair is waaaaay worse, LOL. She's got so much I can't get it into 2 tails. She never has down hair days, unless we go to the hairdresser, and that doesn't last more than 2 days. Right now she she has 8 tails and 2 are sticking straight up like devil horns. Braids are our friend!

Just the day of her appointment wash, condition and comb out her hair. Believe me they can work wonders. They managed to get my daughters hair all pulled back into the bun and her edges were smooth. I tell you I was shocked. It looked great. Really, no worries.
