:D Hi Everyone,

I know someone out there has an answer for me. I'm trying to figure out which water park is better suited for my kids. They will be 7 1/2 and 4 when we're there. Which water park is better for smaller kids? We have been to water parks before and they love them. Especially the big guy (both boys).

If anyone can help it would be much appreicated. Oh, we're not going until October. I hope it's still warm enough to go to the water parks by then.

I prefer Blizzard Beach much more over Typhoon Lagoon. I just don't like the wave pool at TL, I think for some kids, it can be downright scary if not dangerous. I am usually not a worrywart but that wave pool makes me crazy :)

We usually go in November and December and have yet to miss a waterpark. There was one trip several years back, where it was really cold, and I mean wearing our winter coats cold, but one day it warmed up. We cancelled everything for the day and ran to BB :)

I can't recall TL's kids area, but BB is really nice. That is where I spend most of my day with my little one, who was 5 at the time.

Have a great trip

Sorry...this is a biased opinion since we have not been to Typhoon Lagoon...but we just love BB.
We went there on our first trip and really enjoyed it. As we were planning our second trip last April, we thought we'd go to TL just for the sake of trying something new. But then we all came to the conclusion "Why fix something that ain't broke"?...so we returned to BB and absolutely loved it again!
And we're headed down this September and the vote was unanimous... BB again! (Kids are 13, 9 and 5...both kids and adults love it.)

....for BB! We visited it last August, and one concern I had was being in the baking sun ALL DAY LONG. I was pleasantly surprised; there are MANY shady, secluded areas. MY youngest DS, 8 years old, abolutely had a BLAST....his favorite was the slide with the large tube that seats 4-6 people!!! (sorry, I forgot what it's called:( )

I have been to them both and we like them both....If my kids had to pick they would for sure say BB without a doubt......they love BB... It is our favorite of all the parks.....my kids are are 9 and 12.. we also went when they were 5 and 9 and it was there favorite over TL then too. amy

My vote is for BB. We love TL, but BB is more "exciting". I'm with you...we're planning a trip for October and are also hoping for warm weather.

I vote for BB too. But, the highlight of TL is snorkeling at Shark Reef. My ds (8yr old) loved it, he went back 8 times. We were there in Oct. the last two years and it was in the mid- high 80's. It's not crowded at all. In my opinion, BB is more kid-friendly. There is an area just for them, I think it's called the Jr. Ski patrol, which my son loved. My younger son (2) slept on a chair (in the shade) the whole time were there, but the area for him was cute. The family/multi person raft ride, I forget the name, at BB is longer then the one at TL. Also, the one at TL had you go under waterfalls where you got soaked, and then they took your picture. My ds (3) didn't like that at all. I also agree with an earlier post about the wave pool at TL, it is scary. I was nervous when my ds(8) and husband were in the waves.

You'll love Disney in October. Have a nice trip.:smooth:

I knew I could count on you guys. Thanks for all your imputs. Looks like BB is the winner. Isn't that the one that's on the Sing A Long tape...I think it's Mickey's Sing A Long Disney?

I can't wait to go. :bounce: I think I'm more excited than the kids right now, but I know that will change when the time gets closer. Anyone going the week of Oct.11-18? We're staying off site at Marriott's time share - Cypress Harbour.....Any input on that?

Thanks again for helping me make my mind up. hahaha

Have a great day.

Leave it to me to take the other side. I like TL much more than BB. It has more of a tropical getaway feel to it. BB and the snow theme remind me too much of home. But in all fairness, both parks are really great and your kids will love BB. Don't forget to ride the Summit Plummet (if I can do it, you can too).;)

I think TL has more atmosphere and is nicer for adults. I also prefer the corkscrew body slides at TL to just about anything at BB. However, BB is more exciting for children as 2 mini versions of the park (one for 6-12 year olds and one for < 6) have been created just for them.

That being said I adore the wave pool at BB but find the one at TL intimidating. have yet to try the shark pool at TL but look forward to trying it in May.

I guess it boils down to: if atmosphere and theming are important to you, then do TL. If that isn't too important, there is probably more "action" at BB.

We love both but prefer TL. That will probably change when our kids are in the 6-12 age range. BB is perfect for that age group!

We must prefered TL over BB. The wave pool at TL is so much better and we prefered the tube rides over the tobaggon rides. However for kids BB is probably better as the wave pool is tamer and they may enjoy the ski lift.
