We are going to BB for the first time next week, so we don't know the ropes when it comes to having a good time at the waterparks.

Should be pack beach towels so we can save a lounge chair for later in the day?

Or will we probably just go around gether on all of the rides and we really don't need a spot for later?

Are there places in the shade for chairs (if I have to sit in the sun, I won't stay, I need shade)?

How do you "do" the waterparks?

Thanks,
DJ

We've always taken our own beach towels (or the hotel's ... shhhhhhh). We will usually have at least one lounge chair to place our stuff (no valuables).

On past trips, we've had a stroller so we just loaded it up with towels, snacks, sunscreen, etc. and parked it near where we started out. Then we spent most of the day on slides, in pools, on rafts, etc. nowhere near our stroller. Our upcoming trip will be a little different because we won't have our stroller, so I'm hoping that we won't have to bring much "stuff" with us. We've visited the waterparks at very hot times and most times don't even use the towels that we bring. We did see many towels over chairs, so if you want to be assured a chair, that may be the thing to do. There were several shaded areas too, some with picnic tables and others with lounge chairs. I'm sure the shaded spaces are hot items, so it might be worth it to get there early to stake out "your" space.

DH and I don't find anywhere to sit when it's just us. We take all our stuff (including towels) and put it in a locker. Then we do our sitting down at lunchtime. It all depends on whether your family are really active and 'on the go' all day.

We have a *spot* (in both the parks) that we head for immediately upon opening.

We lay out our beach towels (that we bring) on usually 2 chairs (for the 4 of us)

I usually spend most of my day - sleeping - on one of these chairs, occasionally dipping in the Lazy River to cool off. My finance goes back and forth between attractions, and the chair. My boys spend the day out and about - checking in at our spot periodically through out the day.

We dont get a locker (cuz Im usually there, and we dont bring much with us)

Thats how we do it. Take a look at a map and pick a spot - and head for it upon opening.

There's lots of sunny chairs, lots of shady chairs. :3dglasses

This sounds SO nice! And if it weren't our first time, I would probably like to do this too, but since we have never been, I do want to 'check out' the park and we want to go down the family raft ride together.

We only need 2 chairs for the 4 of us too because the kids won't be sitting much. We are going full force to the parks Monday and Tuesday and I am hoping for a relaxing day at BB on Wednesday.

I am SO glad to hear there is lots of shade, that is VERY important to me.

Now I just have to find my way around! I can't wait to see it!

We just plop our stuff down and run for the fun! In all the times we've been to BB, we've never lounged on a chair. Its so much fun going on all the slides. If you are looking for tips, get there as soon as they open in the morning and find your space. Then go directly to "Teamboat Springs", the family raft ride and prepare yourself to LAUGH yourself silly going down this thing. But this gets one of the longest lines very quickly. But do get there! :thumbsup2

As far as towels go, bringing your own helps you find your place alot sooner, but its not necessary. If you're staying at a Disney hotel, its "legal" to bring their towels. The laundry facility is all in one big place on site, so you can leave the towels at BB when you're done (told to me by a CM).

Have a blast and enjoy that Caribbean music there  !!!
