BB/TL - rough on the swimsuits?

This might sound like a nutty question (and I am very willing to admit to being compulsive when it comes to packing) but I have never been to either water park before and we are planning on going to one during our trip next week. Last night I was packing and started to think about whether to bring old swimsuits in case they'd get wrecked at the water park - you know how some pool areas are so rough that if you sit down on the edge the suit gets all ....well, wrecked. We have some old suits from last summer that I was thinking probably need to get tossed but then I thought about this. Of course my daughters want to bring their new suits but...I'd hate to see the new ones get ruined. Will I regret letting them bring the new ones? Any experiences or thoughts on this?

No...I don't think they'll get ruined.
We've been to both water parks many times.
But...we don't ride all of the fast water slides. My kids just ride the tame ones.


In fact, I always buy my kids new suits for Disney.

One thread had a women's most embarrasing moment as when her swimsuit was worn see through on seat by being dragged across the bottom of tide pool.

My DD and I wear nylon or board shorts over our suits. This protects our suits on the slides and rafts.

Hmmm.
I think maybe I'll play it safe and go with the board shorts idea. That way the girls can wear the new suits, I won't worry about ruining them, and hopefully we'll avoid any "embarassing moments" of our own!
