I'm planning a water park day during our trip and was looking for some help. Which waterpark is better suited for young children ages 6,5,4,4 and 3 ?

I've never experienced a water park (isn't that just sad??)

I'm going to bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

Based on the age of your little ones I would choose TL. I feel BB is more for the teen crowed. Hope this helps. :bounce:

I have the exact opposite feeling. I think TL is too much for little kids. The wave pool scares the heck out of me and can be very dangerous, even with life jackets on.

BB has a wonderful children's play area and there are slides for all levels and ages.

After going to both, I will not go back to TL, but we do go to BB every trip. We have little ones and teens and there is something for everyone.

i say TL! They are very much the same but DD loves the "jungle ride". (The lazy river ride with the trees and animal sounds!:p)
It's more of a theme thing for us!

I am debating the same thing, so I would love to hear more opinions. My sons are 6 and 4 and the 6 year old really wants to see Blizzard Beach. He thinks it looks too cool!

Me too! I always thought it was the neurotic mother in me. This year we are trying out BB.

I have been to both TL and BB. BB has Tike's Peak, the lazy river type ride, and the wave pool with little waves for the kids to play in. At TL there is the lazy river type ride and a kid's area. They could play in the wave pool, but those waves are HUGE and can easily knock a small child off their feet. There is a protected area near the wave pool with a small boat and some sand for little ones to play where Moms and Dads can be nearby.

Saying that, we like TL the best! According to my DS 11 yr. old and my DD 18 yr., they both love TL the best and have since they were both very small (my youngest went there starting at 3 yr. and my oldest was 6 yr.). They always choose TL because they say it has the best wave pool and have said this since they were young. They were able to go on a lot of the tube and slide rides too because these are not as extreme as those at BB.

Either of the parks will give you a life jacket for nonswimmers to use for free (you need to leave a credit card number, but will not be charged when you turn them back in).

You can't go wrong with either park. You will have a great time swimming there. We always love them!

Thanks to all and if you're interest there is another post with the same question which has over twenty replies if your interested in more opinions.

My older 2 boys are now 6 and 8. They have done TL and BB and like BB the best.

We have found that BB is better for little kids. At TL, our DS (who was 3 at the time) was terrified of the noise the wave pool makes before the big waves begin. He was also scared of the big waves- not that he experienced them close-up. They were still pretty strong when they got to where he was. The kiddie area in TL was not well patrolled by the lifeguard when we were there, so there were lots of "big kids" fooling around. Also, we thought the walkways were really slippery for little ones. We had a much better experience at BB. The waves in the wave pool were not as intense, and the kiddie area was just that. There were really no bigger kids fooling around in there.
