I was wondering which has more to offer the under 10 crowd.

When ar eyou planning to go during our trip only one will be open for several days. Check you may nto have a choie that said I like TL better because I like setting up near wave pool and I feel it has easier access for a family with wide range of kids ages. Goodluck!

We have 3 children under the age of 10- age 5, age 3 and 10 months. Last year we went to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Hands down, Typhoon Lagoon was the better choice for us. The kids area had more to do, the wave pool was a big hit. The pool at BB has quite an undertow at the edges and can hurt when you scrape the bottom. The water slides at Typhoon Lagoon were much more the right speed (and less lengthy lines) for our kids. They would have liked to swim with the fish but were too young for that. We are not planning to do BB this year since TL seems to be a much better fit.

BB for certain TL is boring. The kids area has nothign that would hold the interest of either of my kids when they were 2 1/2 and 10. Most slides empty into "deep" water too. The ones at BB empty into very shallow water and the kids and preteen areas ROCK. Actually I did a comparison on the family board a few days ago. I'll dig it up and bump it to the top

2ndstar to the right, I was glad to see your response since my three are 5, 3, and 9 months when we go next month! I have been reading every post I can on this topic, and there ar many more recommendations for TL for little kids than BB. I have also seen noted that there is no shade at BB..that is also a factor for some people. Depending on how fair your children are and how willing they are to wear hats!

my daredevil ds & dd have both preferred BB from the time they were 3 on; it has both a child area (with a mini tube ride which my 5yo dd rode 29 times!) and a 7-11 yo area.

The problem I had with BB was I kept trying to watch my 11 year old in pre-teen area while keeping the 2 year old from drowning. I like to keep my kids in sight as much as possible and then I was stuck in the cold concrete blizzard baby land while I lost view of the others now that is boring!! Plus we could not find a spot to meet up or hang that met everyone's needs NOW at TL we went to the edge of wave pool - food was near by not so in BB and everyone could enjoy wild waves, shore, slides, lazy river etc much easier access.

I took my son to both water parks on his first trip to WDW when he was 5 years old.

He talked about the big waves at Typhoon Lagoon for years afterwards. We had a great time there.

We are going back this trip. I can't wait. I never got on any of the bigger slides. He's 10 now, so he is ready to go on the slides with me. :teeth:

A lot depends on what your child most enjoys. If they want to do the slides but are a bit nervous about going down alone, BB has double tubes so you can ride together. The tot area is not as impressive as TL's, but the pre-teen area is fantastic. BB's Family Raft ride is by far the better of the two.

On the other hand, if your child will do body slides alone or mostly wants to play in the water, TL is the place to be. The wave pool is set up for all levels of comfort, even down to the runoff area where tiny guests can splash in very shallow (and very warm) water.

For pure visual impact, BB is the more creative park. But for lush, tropical relaxation, it's TL hands down.
