Baylake Tower Fastpass

I personally think we have a GREAT guide...he seems to know when we are staying and calls and leaves a message in our room welcoming us, letting us know where he will be and when, so he can give us some Fastpasses and say hi...he gives enough for everyone staying with us:cool1:

you don't have to go through your own guide to sign up, you can sign up with any guide and they will call and book your day. Don't know about the filling up part. We stopped one afternoon in the lobby of BLT and asked about signing up for the next day and it was not a problem -- but we did cancel the next morning as no one was interested.

I think your comment may have been directed at someone else:confused3 I wasn't asking about the tour...we are already DVC owners and I was just stating how we get the Fastpasses:)

Actually, only owners can attend this special session going on. When you sign up to attend, the DVC CM has to log onto their database to verify that the person attending is a member. (strange) but I think it's to get us to buy more points and telling us other ways we can use our points.

Sorry if my comment appeared directly to you, I was rambling and trying to get the information out. I haven't recovered from returning from my 2 week trip to WDW last weekend.

Also, wanted to mention. When we got these special fastpasses last year they actually have the DVC symbol on them, so I turned mine into luggage tags. I put a lable with our info on the back side and laminted them and they make great DVC luggage tags.....Just FYI!

Fast Passes appear to be a very effective marketing strategy. :thumbsup2

Would love to do the tour but would not have use for the fast passes. Do they give anything instead?

Sometimes they give out prizes for the games they play during the meeting/tour. Frankly, if you don't want or can't use the fastpasses, I'm sure there are PLENTY of people who will take them from you!;) We saw someone come up to the bus stop one morning and just give theirs to a family, because they were leaving and couldn't use them. :thumbsup2

Yes we got pins, hats, food, and fastpasses.

It is all about the marketing to get you to add on, they offer a free cruise for adding on.

It was about an hour, no hard sell, the views were wonderful and the fastpasses were very nice.

A man asked us flat out if he could have our passes. I thought they were good for a long time so we said no, now I have wasted them or I can use them as luggage tags:)

See my three (3) videos below for BLT 1pm tour and pics/details from the back of FastPass Exchange cards.

I dialed "DVC" from the room phone on Monday April 05, 2010 to schedule the 1pm tour. No availability on Tuesday April 06, 2010 so I made the 1pm appointment on Wednesday April 07, 2010. I asked the differences about 1pm and 2-4pm tours. Only 1pm tours are TOTW Lounge/Observation Deck.

You can make appointments via Member Services.

We got there at 12:55pm, they checked our names off the list.

The whole thing was within 90 minutes including sales pitch, video presentations, rooms/ground tour, BLT purchase/finance options discussion after the rooms tour. My guide did left me a voicemail on our room the same day after the tour.

One (1) FastPass Exchange Card per person. Each card receives three (3) FastPass tickets. They are valid for four (4) days after issue at DVC Preview Center.

BLT 1pm tour exceeded our expectations and enjoy!!

Does everyone in your party need to go to get the Fastpass. We have a party of 4 adults and 4 kids? Also, do you know if you can call and book before you arrive? thanks

think you have to be on property to get the invite.

just go to your DVC desk.

it is at several times - mind was 7:30 or 8:30 am.

when you sign up - ask for the available times - the CM would tell you.

FYI -- we were there 2 weeks ago and they no longer do it in the morning. I was staying at BLT and thought it would be great to zip up in the morning, but the CM said they stopped doing it in the morning because people complained. They do it at 1:00PM now (so no breakfast anymore). We signed up, but then cancelled the next morning as I had no takers in my party that wanted to give up pool time to do this.

So if we are at the BWV a week from today-we should be able to sign up at the BWV DVC (if a rep is there) for 1PM that day (or the next) and take the BLT tour and get FP's? Seems worth it since we want to tour it anyway.

Does anyone know how long they have offered this tour? Also do you think it is likely they will still do this in December?

It should not be a problem at all as we signed up in the afternoon to attend the tour the next day. While you are standing there, they do have to call someone to make sure there are opennings. Then you are given a slip of paper to take with you. You can stop at any DVC desk anywhere on property to sign up. They will have to vertify that you are a member, so it would help if you have your membership card with you. If not they have to go into the database to locate your membership number. This tour is only for current DVC members. They had a hard time trying to locate my daughter in the database and never did. She is a member and is on my deed as a member and has her own blue membership card (but left it at home). Not sure why there was a problem unless they can only look up the "lead" members. (we have 3 members, but I'm the lead and DH and DD are on the same deed as I am).

As for the poster asking about fastpasses. Yes, only the members who attend get them -- as they will not give you "extras" for family members not in attendance. I cancelled my tour, but did take one last year and that's how it was handled then.

We just added on this week and will be signing our papers when we are down there on Tuesday. I just asked my awesome guide if we could get those special fast passes and she said she'd get them for us! YAY!

.

Thanks, we will check it out-will ask if our 24 yo DD and 16 yo DD can go as well.

Just an FYI -- I called and spoke with a guide yesterday (my guide was out of the office) and he was able to set us up to take the tour while we are there next Fri. I really wanted to see BLT (and wouldn't mind the FP's either!) and that was the day that worked best for us. So, you can call ahead if you want to make sure you get a certain day.

So you can't bring people with you? I'm an owner, but I'm single, I wouldn't mind being able to bring a friend or two with me.
