Bay Lake Towers MK view vs Lake view

Hello everyone.We are so excited to be coming to WDW for the 1st time!Myself and DD age 11.My DH is not even slightly interested in Disney so we are leaving him behind!We are staying a total of 11 days divided between Pop century 1st then on to Bay lake towers!I am so dissapointed to find out we are unable to go to the Top of the world,I was misled when making the reservations with Disney!So now I am rethinking our one bedroom Bay lake view,since we cant see the fireworks from here.Any experience you could share related to viewing wishes from this resort would be great!Also just in general experience with this resort,tips about anything!

Why not just make a dinner reservation for California Grill? Then you can go out on the lookout or just look out the windows. They pipe the music in - it is a great experience. I am not sure if this is what you mean by "Top of the World"

Top of The World is a DVC only bar type fireworks viewing deck.

We do have reservations at the california grill.LOL.However we selected BLT for the ability to have a generalized better view of the fireworks.Just trying to figure out best spots without a reservation.

They were pretty strict on checking our DVC Id's before unlocking the elevator up to the Top of the World. Althouh on about our fourth trip the lady recognized my husband and me!

There are several excellent fireworks viewing locations. Right near the skyway between the contemporary the BLT is a deck area. It is a smoking area, or at least it was in September when we were there. But it is large and easily shared. It has some nice views. Even better is the view from the skyway bridge itself. As you go toward BLT, the view gets better. There aren't usually many people there since access to the skyway is controlled by your key card.

The resort itself is very nice. Compact and easy to get around. We found that coing to the Contempo Cafe for breakfast was very convenient. Got our refillable mugs and my husband would head over to get me coffee in the mornings when he went for his morning smoke. Then we'd go over for second cup of coffee and a light breakfast. We also did dinner there once or twice and it was decent.

The BLT pool area is very nice. You will also need your key card to enter the pool area.

It is very convenient to be able to walk to the MK and monorail to the TTC and grab the Epcot monorail. Bus service to the AK and Studios was decent.

We are going back next September.
