I have a reservation for a 2BR villa in July. We have 4 kids in our group aged 9, 7, 2 and 4 month old. So we'll be pushing 2 strollers.

In your experiance what should I request to make our life easier? I think I read in another thread the following "The Tower rooms offer incredible views of Bay Lake, the Seven Seas Lagoon or the Magic Kingdom Park. They are also closer to the monorail station, restaurants and shops."

and

"Also if you have a Bay Lake View if you request an odd number room you will also have a view of Epcot, Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness and Downtown Disney. If you ended up with an even numbered room then your beds would face Bay Lake Tower."

Which one is a better view, odd or even?

So I should request a tower room, but which rooms are closer to the elevator and which floor would you recommend, also to catch a good view of Illuminations.

If you can see MK park from a lakeview room, can you catch a glimpes of Wishes too?

Was just there last month.

Had a one bedroom lake view room

Requetsed: North Tower, Even Numbered Room

Was two rooms from North Elevator, with head on view of MK, and Wishes was RIGHT in front of our eyes, truly amazing, with music piped in over TV.

The long hallways are not an issue like other DVCS;......

Go with North Tower and Even Numbered Room Request and Hope for the Best

Best Of Luck!

Thank you. Which floor were you in?

we were on 7th floor, room 7712

The view was crazy good/....dont think you could get a better MK view....

Go with the North Tower, even numbered room, trust me

We did online check in as well

If they give you an odd numbered room, ask for an even numbered room, even if you have to wait for it.

You will be VERY thankful

We did Wishes from the park one night, and it was a MESS! People everywhere, crowded, etc etc

After that, we did it in the room like 3 nights (we were there 9 nights) and it is awesome, to just watch them on the balcony and go right to bed afterwards!!!!!!!!

The fireworks mostly go off above space mountain and your room is like 100 yards away. The music on the TV really compliment it as well

Just let me know if you have any other questions, as we just returned from BLT about a week ago

FYI: I think the room recommendations you're reading are for the main hotel (which was long referred to as "the Tower" to differentiate it from the 2 garden wings), NOT Bay Lake Tower (where the villas are located). There are some SUITES in the main tower...but you can't really request much in the way of location, since there's relatively few of them.

I can't offer much in the way of suggestions for what rooms to request, beyond what the other posters have offered, at Bay Lake Tower. No matter where you are, you're going to have to elevator down to the "fly over" and walk to the main Contemporary concourse for the restaurants and the monorail station.

Thanks alot. Were you able to see Illuminations as well? I wonder whether there's any 2 BR villas close to the one you stayed in.

No , no illuminations at all

But the Wishes were practically in your room if that helps

I think the OP is right as well, your reading descriptions from the other resort, the Contempoaray

We were there earlier this month is 8210. It was a 1 bdrm Lake view. This is at BLT. Our request was North tower, even room. As PP said, great view of MK/Wishes. That's what I was hoping for (view of MK without paying MK view rates). The view from our room...

Now, do you want the view? Do you want to be closer to the elevator? Do heights bother you (or someone in the party)?

Something else to think about is BLT is shaped in a crescent with the pool in the middle. Rooms that don't look at the pool will be slightly bigger because of the circle (picture a sliced pizza or pie).

If you have South Tower & even # room, you're going to be looking at CR. North Tower & even # you'll have (probably) MK & lake. There is a great thread in the DVC Planning(?) forum that has the layout, room types, & sizes of all the rooms. Many also have pictures of the "view" from that room. If I find the thread, I'll come back and post the link.

Hmmm I called and made the request but I didn't know its over looking the parking lot, now I'm wondering. No one in our party is scared of heights. I just want to get a good view.

I guess I have to decide between the parking lot/MK view or pool/lake view.

We just returned from a stay at BLT in a 1 bedroom lakeview. We made the same request as everyone else - north, even, high floor. Keep in mind that not everyone will get that view - we got it on our last stay, but not on this one. Even asking the front desk for a different view didn't help - we were given a villa on the 11th floor, overlooking the Contemporary pool and marina. We ended up loving it - even more than our partial MK view from last year. It was particularly beautiful at night when the Contemporary was lighted.

Can you make a room request before you arrive or do you have to wait until you arrive?

The parking lot didn't bother me at all. I gladly will take that parking lot view in order to see the MK (and Wishes).

I can confirm the view from 8210, lol. We had that same room for 4 nights in May. All I requested was Lakeview, and we were pleasantly surprised. Its actually he 12th floor, room 10 of section (tower?) 8. I think next time we would still request lake view again. We loved the lounge on top for the view, even though the room view was fantastic for fireworks. :cool1:

Ps- Sam- u didn't happen to find one of my socks did you?

Beautiful! I think we will be staying here for our August 2012 vacation. I think we'll be renting a one bedroom lakeview so I'll have to remember to request this!

lol. No, don't remember any extra socks.

Actually, BLT 1st floor rooms are 71xx, 2nd floor is 72xx, 3rd floor 73xx, etc. So 12th floor = 82xx.

I'm guessing it's because the CR itself has designations going up to 69xx or 70xx.

All Magic Kingdom views at Bay Lake Towers and the Contemporary will overlook the parking lot, there is no way to avoid it.

Hi! If we wanted a 1 BR with a possible view of MK AND close to the bridge to the CR, is that what we would ask for, or is there a more specific/better way to request it? Thanks!

Thank you. I've made the request. Its great to be able to see MK from the room.

But isn't it weired that they give you a room with a parking lot view when you're supposed to get a lakeview room? I didn't see any lake in the picture that was posted.
